I dont know how the military works, contract wise, so i apologise if this question is stupid but:

If the troops come back from afghanistan, would they immediately be unemployed? I'd imagine they would just be based at a national military base (or in some other country)?

That's a good question. I would assume that most of them would take on a job as a police officer, or something related to that. Most of the soldiers that come home end up homeless anyways.

Obviously, he doesn't deserve it. I like the president, but come on here. Nobel? No. Not at all.

He should have said no. It would have made him look a lot better if he'd said something to the effect of: "I am humbled by this award, but can't help but find myself undeserving. There is too much work to do for me to accept."
