Nu-Mixx Klazzics is an album that includes some of Tupac's greatest songs remixed with different guest artists. Volume 2 is a totally different story of a vigorous attempt to keep things professional.

According to certain Tupac based websites on the internet, a rumored track list for Nu-Mixx Klazzics Volume 2 has now been revealed. Please disregard the release date that previously had been given by Amazon.com, as the new release date of this album is set for August 14, 2007. Also note that this review is partly based on speculation because at any time, without any further notice, the tracks on the retail release of Nu-Mixx Klazzics Volume 2 can change.

Here is the bad news first...

Miss (You probably won't want to hear this): This new Tupac release is somewhat unprofessional in some areas and even uses a computer generated A Capella in one of the songs ("Hail Mary"). The not-so strong vibe of this album comes from more of a mix tape approach only because one of the tracks consists of a few unexposed bars taken from an actual song ("Picture Me Rollin'") and ended up being looped. Unfortunately, you can still hear vocals in the back round, even with the new artists rapping over it. Talk about going back to the stone age because they fucked some of these songs like they never even heard of condoms before.

Did anyone else notice the creative name changes to the song titles? Remember, being creative doesn't always rely on being a good thing.

Hit (What's Good?): Don't let the above discourage you from buying this new Tupac release because there are some definite hits present in the album. Something that caught me off guard (in a good way) is the remix of "Lost Souls", which uses the same original sample (as the retail version) and also includes brand new verses recorded by Yong Noble, and EDI. Also re-grouped with the Outlawz is Hussein Fatal. Hearing Hussein rap with his fellow Outlawz gives this album the feel of completion. It's good to have you back Fatal.

Somewhere down the line someone started paying attention to the fact that in the past 5 years, these albums have been featuring a lot of guest artists that Tupac had probably never even heard of. Now, the second time around we have the privilege to hear an album that features guest artists that Tupac had actually worked with in the past, artists such as Daz Dillinger, Kurupt, Bootcamp Clique, and Outlawz.

My Verdict: Put aside the fact that these songs are all remixes (although that is the whole point of this album), I rate this album 6.5/10, and that's being pretty generous considering the unprofessionalism of this album.

01 Picture Me Rollin' (Featuring Kurupt)
