i doubt she was running for president, although i think it was related to the russ celebration. i'll explain further because the site didnt really give a good explanation. while the site states that we "run around in red and blue suits" lol.. we don't "run around", we just wear special clothes for two weeks. there are more than just red and blue, you also have white, orange, green, black and so on. the color is decided by the type of school you go to. for instance, if you're studying to be a chef you would wear black, and if you're studying to be an engineer you would wear blue. the writings on the suits vary, but usually you would put your name, the year, the name of your school, or something along the lines on your suit. it's also a tradition to have people write little messages on your suit, stuff like "hey, love you cutiepie, have fun, <name>". basically, we're celebrating that we're done with high school.
the thread title says she's running for class president but that's wrong. if this was indeed a russ president election she would become the president of her school, not her class. there are several reasons why you would want to become president. presidents usually hold speeches in front of their whole town on the 17th of may which is the national day of norway, and the last day of the russ celebration. but there's more. see for every school, a board is selected. soon as a board which usually consists of 2 students from every senior class is elected, they decide their positions internally. for instance, there is a pr person who deals with media, a terror person who is supposed to come up with pranks and shit that we can do to the juniors, russ of other colors, and so on. furthermore, not only is the suit a tradition but the hat that goes with it. on the first day of the russ celebration you are "baptized" and given a name that your friends came up with. i got the name "jew" cause im circumcised. the russ board compile a list of things you can do, and for everything you do on that list you get something you can put in your hat. that's just for fun, it's like a list of merits. some from my school included:
- crawl through the backseat of an unknown car
- stand in the middle of road with a bottle of liqour in your hand and a sign saying "beep and i'll take a zip" for 10 minutes
- fart in class and admit it was you
- eat a cucumber without wiping your mouth
the list goes on lol, there are a total of 101. if you do 60 of these things you become an elite russ and you get like gold stripes on your suit or some shit. if you do the 101th, you automatically become an elite. it usually involves nudity in public. on our school the 101th requirement was that you perform a song naked on the stage in the cafeteria. a dude from my class did lol. that's why i dont think she was running for president btw, might just be the elite requirement she was doing. then again i could be wrong.
i was elected president of my school. i didnt strip naked, however i entered the stage in a male thong and a black hat. lol. that, combined with my charm, karma and cuteness factor was enough. two of the benefits i experienced as a president were:
- give the president a 3-minute back/shoulder/neck-massage
- perform oral sex/have sex with the president.
