Film & TV Nintendo Wii's massive launch day line-up.

#1
With the Wii launch hiding somewhere in the next 3 months, we can't help but to brim with excitement while thinking about what we'll be playing on Wii-day (which is our favorite term for the day the Wii launches). If your worried about the Wii suffering from the lackluster launch day the DS did, you can put all those fears to rest.
We went back to count just how many games had been confirmed for the Wii so far, and were wonderfully surprised to find 27 confirmed launch titles coming to the Wii. Can you say 'biggest game console launch in history'? This isn't a little collection of obscure third-party games nor two-thirds of sports titles either, we're talking a list with some serious big-hitters. Metroid Prime 3, Zelda, and Red Steel top a list of widely diverse and interesting titles.

Some quick comparisons. The Xbox 360 launched last year with 18 games in the US, although only a handfull were exclusive, and 11 of them were sports games. The Wii counters with it's games spanning numerous genres (maybe even inventing some new ones) and over 20 exclusive titles. The PS3 is currently sitting at 15 confirmed games on it's November 17th launch day. Of course, this is expected to increase in the next few months. That said, the current Wii launch list (which you can see below) is far from final, and we wouldn't say it's a stretch to expect to see at least 30 games on launch day. If that doesn't get you excited about the Wii, you have no soul.

If I have the money, I'm gonna get the Wii when the price drops.

When Gamecube came out, I paid the opening price. Three weeks later it dropped $100 :fury:

I believe it was $150, so I wasn't as angry when it dropped.

I can't wait till the date is announced, I want this thing so bad.

One last note of interest. Worried about that post-launch drought? Well, if we don't see 'em at launch, remember Super Mario Galaxy, WarioWare, Fire Emblem, Prince of Persia, Sonic, and of course Super Smash Bros. Brawl aren't very far behind.

Red Steel would be so much cooler if it was just a sword-play game, the wii controller + sword action sounds awesome.
Well, LucasArts is developing a Star Wars game for the Wii, that would enable you to use a Lightsaber and move it around with the Wii controller. That should be fucking awesome. :)

it's cute to see a cute girl play cute games on a cute system...it really is..

but i'm one of those people that's had it with nintendo...im not an open minded gamer...i dont wanna play a system where the controller makes it look like i'm giving hand jobs to two men in a threesome...

i learned the hard way by buying the gaycube 2 months after its release..and if you remember, that was when the 3rd or 4th wave of systems came out due to the 1 month shortage...so i got it just one step after launch day....i have yet to find a game that has kept me playing for more than 2 weeks...wind waker...nah....super smash, i will admit, is one of the best party games ever...but the list ends there....

what i remember most about a previous message board i use to visit when i was around 10 years old, was taht all the guys that were 6 or 7 years older than me used to rave on and on about how the gamecube was gonna be amazing...they also shat on the xbox continuously...and this was about a year and half before the cube was to be released...so i listend to them ignorantly, and bought a cube..actually my dad did...

so i was really fortunate that my dad got me both the ps2 and the gaycube merely months after they were released...so i really lost no money, but still...i felt the gaycube was the biggest waste of money as far as electronics go....yes...the electronic nose hair trimmer still gets more "play time" than my gaycube...

really, i thik if i bought a cube today in the bundles that give you a game for free, i'd still buy the cube used at 50 bucks or so....and that'd still be a stretch...nintendo has lost my vote of confidence, as far as consoles go...handhelds...i still love my GBA to death, but im sure as hell not dishing out the greenbacks for a DS...i'd much rather have a psp and use free, pirated games.....yes...i am your typical indian...;):thumb:
