Well I don't think Nas would want to be like, "Yeah, Pac punked the shit out of me, but it's all good." But I do agree that Nas definitely downplayed how heated it got, I don't like how he tried to make it sound like they were buddies after that... just listen to "We Will Survive" where Nas says:

Well if its true what Snoop Dogg says when he talks about hating people collaborating with Pac if he beefed with then, then Pac and Nas must have made up because Snoop was in the Thugz Mansion Remix video which is 2 Pac ft Nas. Either that or he has terribly contradicted himself.

^I don't remember Snoop in the Thugz Mansion video. This was a good read I never saw this before. I knew Nas didnt sit and squash it w/ Pac, he bowed down. And it's weird seein Snoop talk about X, considering he dissed Pac too.

True .. I remember first time I heard the studio cut for "Get At Me Dog" and DMX said "That Nigga 2pac can suck my dick" .. couldn't believe that shit. DMX wasn't even really out at that point and he was dissin Pac.

The beef was definatley squashed. Napolean confirmed this in XXL's making of Makaveli. He said that Pac got the idea for "Me and My Girlfriend" from Nas' "I Gave You Power." He said that Tupac really was a fan of Nas and after he found out that Nas was friends with BIG, he went after him. Nas was very popular in NY at the time (It Was Written sold 3 million) and I think Pac felt he had to go after him. But yeah they squashed it in NY on 9/4 and Pac got shot on 9/7. Now Nas was actually in Las Vegas on the day he died. He was shooting the video for "Street Dreams." They were gonna meet up in the days after the fight but Pac got shot so they never did.

Well according to Suge, Pac made another version of hitemup dissin the hell outta snoop, but Suge didn't want him to release it cause he knew Pac was just upset at the time he made it and would regret it later on. But Suge is one of the biggest fucking liars so who knows if its even true.

I'm not sure if that's 100% of the reason. If you listen to The Last Interview CD, Pac talks about Nas. He said that one time at the House of Blues (not necessarily the night of the concert that was just released), they ran into each other there. Pac said he approached Nas and said everything was cool, and the drama didn't involve him. But I guess It Was Written came out shortly afterward, and Pac was mad because he took "The Message" as a dis, claiming Nas was "talking that 'fake thug' shit" and "dropping little jewels in his shit" (basically putting subliminal disses), specifically these lines:

"Fake thug, no love, you gets the slug..."

"Spun around and shot one, heard shots and dropped son
Caught a hot one..."

"I got stitched up and went through,
Left the hospital that same night..."
(And this is the line that got Pac to say on "Against All Odds":
"This little nigga named Nas think he live like me
Talkin' 'bout he left the hospital, took five like me...")

I was always under the impression that this was why Pac went after Nas, especially since that's what he said in his interview, as opposed to going after him for his connection with Biggie (which wasn't nearly as strong as Jay-Z's connection with Biggie at the time).

Not to be going off-topic, but this gives me an idea. With all these threads about how people want to make a timeline of Pac's recorded material or a list of confirmed unreleased material, we should also make a list of all the lies that Suge has said throughout the years (how a piece of a bullet was stuck in his head, Dre wanting to be white, the existence of a "Hit 'Em Up 3" dissing Snoop, Snoop wanting to come out as a Blood rapper at first, etc.). We could do the same for Daz (claims that Suge had kidnapped Kurupt, enlisting in the U.S. Army, the existence of 700 unreleased Pac songs, etc.).
