A week after announcing he will rename his controversial Nigger album to simply Nas, word has spread that Nas is scheduled to team up with DJ Green Lantern to drop a mixtape titled The Nigger Tape. "I guess it shows you the power of Wal-Mart and Target," Green Lantern told Rhapsody's Play Blog. "If that was the case, it's definitely scary because it kind of fucks with your artistic vision."

The tape will feature remixes, outtakes, exclusive tracks, and also an unreleased verse from Nas' recently released "Be A Nigger Too." A new version of "The Last Real Nigga Alive," originally a track on God's Son, is also expected to to be on The Nigger Tape.

Nas initially was to title his next effort Nigger, as announced during a New York performance at Nokia Theater last year. After hearing the uproar of both positive and negative feedback, he then decided to change the album's spelling to the more eyebrow-raising Nigger.

Although he was supported by Def Jam Records Chairman L.A. Reid as well as then-president (and former foe) Jay-Z, many large-scale retailers including Wal-Mart said they would boycott the album and refuse to stock it on their shelves, thus forcing Nas to fold and change the controversial title.

Nas' newly self-titled album is tentatively slated to drop July 1st.

There is still no word as to when The Nigger Tape will hit streets.

^sometimes i get the feeling from nas that hes biting pac still..i cant blame him tho..pacs only the best rapper....

lol

i don't necessarily feel like he's biting pac, but some times when he tries to be abstract he just fails. and some times when he tries to be deep, it just comes out corny. he has a habit of going back and forth between unrelated topics from one line to the other in his verses, making everything seem like he wrote down random 2-line rhymes on different post-its and put a bunch of random notes together into verses. some times. i'll say that a lot of his music is awesome though. i'm not a hater, just not a very big fan.

2pac is overrated.
Listen to emcees like Scarface and Rakim before you jump on the bandwagon and say that 2pac is the greatest.
Before he was killed he was'nt thought that much of by most of the Rap community.

Understand that no one calls you the best until your dead jus like people notice you alot more when your gone unless you made a impact while you were here
