I'm officially moving permanently to Portland in a few months time. Went to the Embassy this morning (it was scary) and went through the whole interview process, they checked all the documentation and then approved it! It's been a long ride... started the application last July.... I'm happy to be getting the fuck out of miserable England!

Interviewer- "So what do you know about the US?"
You- "911 was an inside job by the Rockefellas."
Interviewer- "You sound like an American already. Pass."

You know what that means, right?

You can now sing along to this without feeling awkward!

On a serious note congrats to you and your wifey, I'm sure she's thrilled about it as well.

Gotta be honest... I like the states... But....

London >>>> Anywhere in US.

If I moved it'd be to Spain. But... I wouldn't want to work there. So I'd have to be set for life.

London is pretty much the only place in England I like. I'm obviously here right now, in North where my cousin lives but headed back to B'ham later. But no way in hell is it better than LA, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Atlanta or New York. All of those places kick major ass. Even my own family here in London are working out a plan to move to San Francisco and they own expensive property here.

Portland where I'm moving.... is the most vegan and environmentally friendly city in the US and one of the top ones in the world. It also has more microbreweries than anywhere else, earning it the nickname "Beervana", and the highest amount of strip clubs per capita... LOL. Not that I frequent strip clubs, but it's nice to have lots of options :)

I have the K3 marriage visa which allows me to live and work there. But yeah, I can apply for the Green Card once I'm there.

lol, i visited this forum expecting confirmation of my hypothesis that you will have already made this thread. hypothesis accepted.

congrats. there's nothing holding you back now... i guess you'll still be visiting the UK as frequently as you did the US?

I love California.. if I don't move out of the US in the next year or so (fingers crossed) then i'm definitely heading out to Cali. I agree with the avoid LA info. Great place to visit, horrible to live.... not to mention how bad the air quality is. But yeah... San Diego is high on my list of places to move to if I stay here. San Fran is beautiful..

If I lived in the states I'd love to be in one of these smaller towns. Not one of these inhabited by rednecks, I mean towns with bigger cities nearby. Either that or suburbs of a bigger city.
