well i know you're right Tru, but when women say things like what Syn said, that no woman really wants a guy like that, it makes me think about every time i go downtown and i see drug dealers on damn near every corner. and do you know what else i see? every one of these guys have at least 3-4 females hanging around them and hanging off them. i know it's usually a self esteem issue, but it just seems like so many women are like this nowadays.

You are assuming. My ex wasn't a "thug" at all. He was Manager in the marketing department at Sara Lee. He had his degree and graduated from Loyola University. He was the furthest possible thing from a thug. Was he the best guy? No. But I didn't know that until later. He started out as a diamond but ended up being nothing more than a cubic zirconia (sp?) There's no way to know what a person will turn into. However, if the person is an ass from the beginning you can kind of guess what type of person they are. But thanks for remembering so much about me though, makes me feel special.

However, I also had enough common sense not to talk to them or give them my valued precious time. Not only that, but that phase passed after HS. So, no I wasn't a "real woman" as a HS sophomore. that's not my point at all actually, i agree that it is off topic and not really what this discussion was about. i was only replying to what you said about how women don't want a punk or a tough guy, and i disagree with that sentiment to a degree. i don't think that women who are attracted to these types aren't real women tho, i believe that they just make mistakes in judgment. there are too many reasons why a woman would be attracted to them for me to label them all with the same brush as you have. and no i'm not saying that women who are attracted to these types are the reason that the guys are this way, i can't tell you why people think they have to act hard, other than what i already said in my first post.

Man, honestly i been around those guys all my life... and a certain point in my life i was like that. But I grew out of it. And for real, Guys that must be "hard" all the time, are usually the guys that arent hard at all. From personal experience, the heardest dudes i ever met in my life are also some of the realest, and down to earth guys. And no they dont act hard all the time. Most ppl act hard all the time to intimidate people, so they wont ever have to scrap for real.

I dont respect bad ass dudes anymore. I think they're stupid. I respect guys that are real men. They dont feel th need to mean mug everybody that walks by. They dont feel the need to brag about anything negative they've done. They dont feel the need to talk shit. They can mantain their composure, when somebody talks shit without a purpose. But if anybody dare hurt who they consider their family & friends, thats when they dont bother 'acting' hard, but show without talking what they're really capable of. Real men can take care of their loved ones, without being pussies.

I've noticed, more dudes try n act hard in suburbs than they do in urban areas, cuz they can get away with that shit. People in rough neighborhoods dont try n act hard, people in rough neighborhoods generally mind their own business. Yes urban/rough areas have dudes that are hard, but the majority, is just a bunch of people that dont even wanna pretend to be hard, cuz they've really seen that shit. They dont try and mimick rappers, they see the real deal as they grow up.
