There's only one that I can recommend because there's only one that I use (well, atleast most of the time.) What I recommend is Fruity Loops aka FL Studio. On my computer, I use FL version 3.5 and I just add different kits and sounds to make it sound more updated. But whenever I go over to my friend's house/studio, I use FL Studio V.6. I think it's the XXL version.
Sometimes - very rarely - do I use Reason. With Reason, you need a Midi controller, which I don't have and on top of that, my hand coordination isn't that good to do complex melodies, so like I said, I don't fuck with Reason that much.
But I can't lie. Although FL is easier to use (much easier), Reason sounds more realistic, which in the end is the better result.
