Mobile Streethop

Are you one of those annoying telemarketers that wanna make me change phone servers?

See Below

lol. Are you a tech for a computer company that helps people over the phone?

Yeah I do tech support for Home Appliances. You'd be suprised how many people don't know how to use or look after a Washing Machine properly.

"My Washing machine smells like a blocked sink, its broken, come fix it under my warranty."

You're warranty covers mechanical failure, there's nothing a washing machine could do to make your machine smell like shit. What do you do when something is dirty or smells? You clean it you lazy cunt.

With the amount of active posters we have, I doubt Caesar wants to waste his time doing a mobile version of the site. Simple truth.

tell me about it man, i get people on the phone wondering why their electrics have gone. CHECK YOUR DAMN FUSE BOX! i always get the reply "im not touching it cos im not an electrician". i answer back with "it doesnt take an electrician to flick an insulated switch back up. do it otherwise if one of our workmen attend you will be charged for the work to be completed. this includes call out charge, charge for completion of job, and that excludes VAT so then add the VAT on top.". - oh i am a badman indeed. then they have no choice.

also, i get "my toilet dont flush, what i am gonna do?". use a bucket of water and chuck it down.

p.s. these people are council tenants and pay like £10 a week or whatever to live in a council property in run down areas.

i frequently get "why are all my things breaking? what do i pay council tax and my rent for?" we sometimes reply back with "we pay council tax and rent too, but we dont get free repairs" - ooh the cheek of the employees. no really, sometimes you have to be hard on them because they lie alot to get work done for free. even some OAP's (who are the priority because theyre vulnerable) dont mind waiting longer and are not so pushy and perfectly honest yet those younger people who are perfectly cabale of coping demand things to be completed straight away.

this is not on topic, but im passionate about helping people who need help most. how did the discussion come to this? it might sound like im rude at work, but my performance is the best lol and i do be very polite like in real life, but theres times when i just argue with the customer (but only when im in the right, because then i have the right to stand up for myself and tell them where they cannot get everything because thats not the way it works).

preach. be proud of me, please.

very true indeed. who knows? making another way to access the site could help activity. but i cant see it making much difference as the www on a pc is the main access to websites not mobile sites but it would still be a good idea.

I didn't know you went to Handsworth Grammar, sandeep. My cousin went there.

Opera Mini on Android isn't too bad IMO. I use it sometimes. I find Steel is the best browser on Android right now though.

maybe i knew him if he was there whilst i was studying there.

i might just check it out, i was thinking i'd better stick with steel. but the 90% compression of site objects is attracting me because i would like to visit certain websites on the go.

i like using google mobile's android service of viewing mobile webpages but it doesnt work great for everything.

Exactly, I like helping people with real problems, I get satisfaction from doing my job well. But I don't enjoy talking to dickwads who are either dumb or lazy, and unfortunately, thats what the majority of my work consists off, so by the time I go home, I don't wanna talk to any one lol.

lol, I could not do that. I'd lose my temper after the third person like that.

that's exactly how i feel sometimes. talking all day to akward people takes the biscuit.

and whats more is that i take more calls than other people because they put their phones on "not ready" and chat to the manager who is the same race as them. they talk in the same language and time must fly by for them - the manager doesnt say anything to them either.
i always keep myself on "ready" to take calls otherwise it will affect my stats and i will get picked out and interrogated in my one-to-ones.

this is only short term for me anyway. i wont stay longer than for another year. i'm looking forward to getting work experience (paid) and voluntary work (unpaid) which will actually be more relevant experience.

Yeah I like steel a lot.. although I haven't gotten any updates recently and it seems like I should have.

i just downloaded opera mini and went on the home page of streethop. the page is zoomed out a lot and the text looks microscopic. i just kind of prefer the site zoomed in a little as default but thats down to my opinion; most people probably prefer the view of the whole page so probably satisfies them and is not a problem.

but the page loaded super fast! super super fast with the background colours and graphics too.

edit: now i can see carmi's lips, prize gotti's legs and synful's hair on my phone :D

You can zoom in actually :p By default Opera mini shows a webpage like you would see it on your pc (just smaller) and then you zoom in on any section you want.

oh lol i forgot to say i can zoom in using the browser. its just that i prefer the text a little more visible and readable by default.

p.s. im writing from my phone using opera mini. :)

or we could have lives and use mobile phones for actually calling people

You do get it. we live in the era of photographic cameras recording high definition movies and video cameras capturing photographs, but why you say? Because it makes sense. For you to limit a device in your pocket as a one purpose device is some kind of backwards thinking, sir.

Hey Caesar--

when can you fucks create an iphone app for streethop?

thx,
E

Assuming that you're on Safari4 - go to New Posts on StreetHop -- click RSS in the address field -- Send link to Email -- open in MobileMail -- bookmark. Same with News or whatever you want.

Ain't as pretty but wth.

Haters die!

There's no need to. I have a script looking for "Apple" as a keyword and every word starting with an "I" that generates a random smartass punchline.
