Mobb Deep on 2Pac countdown?

I was watching some old music videos on Youtube and came across Mobb Deep's "Hit It From The Back" (their first video) from an episode of MTV Base. The weird thing is, throughout the whole video it says "Top 20 2Pac Videos" in the top right corner. Was Pac a Mobb fan before the whole beef? Any info would be appreciated. Yeah Pac was a fan of Mobb Deep before the beef. He even told one of the prison guards or one of the inmates who acutally knew them to tell them that he loved their music. But then PAc felt they dissed him on "Survival Of The Fittest" when they said "Thug Life, we're still living it..." and this was around the time Pac renounced Thug Life.

The person said it was an old mtv base show, so I am assuming that it first aired when Pac was alive.
