Mobb Deep and Jay-Z squash beef

Although the rivalry between Mobb Deep and Jay-Z has lost steam over the years, according to Queensbridge rapper Prodigy, the beef is officially over.

"We got friends in common," Prodigy told MTV News, perhaps hinting at Jay and 50 Cent’s collaborative work on Freeway’s upcoming album, Free At Last. After all, Mobb Deep is now signed to 50’s G-Unit record label, and feuding with industry allies would inevitably be bad for business.

In addition to putting their differences aside, Mobb Deep is also preparing to do some work with their former rival -- the Queensbridge duo will executively produce Def Jam rookie Sam Scarfo's debut album.

"We’re going to help him with a little bit as far as the beats and all that," Prodigy said. "Me and Jay-Z had a sit-down over it. We ironed out our little differences. We reached out to each other like, ‘Let’s have a sit-down, have a meeting.’ It’s all business, it’s all good. Basically [the meeting] was [put together] through our manager Storm. Storm also manages Scarfo."

Besides sharing the same manager, P says he and Havoc are excited to work alongside Scarfo because the New Jersey native has a unique style and "brings something new to the table."

Scarfo, a past Fight Klub battle winner, was the first solo artist to sign under Def Jam when Jay-Z became the company’s president
