Variety reports that Mike Epps ("All About the Benjamins") will star as Richard Pryor in an upcoming feature based on the comedian's life. Walter Hill, who directed Pryor in "Brewster's Millions," will direct the biography.

Caleb Kane is penning the screenplay. Pryor and his wife, Jennifer Lee Pryor, will be producing the project as well.

Sounds good, i like Mike epps as an actor, allthough i belive his talent may be misused here, he'll atleast get his shot, which every hard working actor deservers. ALA Jamike Foxx.

Anyone else think they should wait to shoot this when pryor is dead to hype it up more, sadistic thought maybe, but like with Ray, the publicity pays off.

Yeah, but they didn't wait till Ray was dead before making the movie, it was made when he was still alive, it just happened to be scheduled for release around the same time that Ray died

Have any of you ever seen the movie JoJo Dancer, Your Life Is Calling? It's a gay ass title for sure, but it's a semi-autobiographical movie about Richard Pryor starring himself and written, directed and produced by him. He plays a character named JoJo Dancer, but it's all about his life, and it is one of his best movies. I'm not even sure if they even make it anymore, but you can probably find it on vhs if you look hard enough. I highly recommend it to any Pryor fans. You can find more info about it here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091295/
