going to see it Friday @ 7pm. Yeah my sister is a huge fan so I got tickets online finally... heard good reviews today.

I went to watch it today. The only thing missing from this film is the moonwalk. If you're attentive enough you'll see a variation of it.

Don't wait for the DVD or Blu Ray. Your neighbors or people you live with, will never let you play it up to the sound level you're supposed to watch this film on. Go out to the cinema and, watch this. The performances sound so amazing!! While you're there, watch the credits all the way to the end. I enjoyed the whole show much more than I thought I would.

Since I won't bring up any spoilers, I will bring up the music. There is this instrumental that they play right at the end of 'Thriller' that sounds so good (I'll always refer to it as 'Thriller 2009' for my own reasons). I wonder if it'll ever be officially put out.

Well? Get your asses out there and watch it!!

I would have liked to have bought the soundtrack with the same versions of the songs from the movie. Pretty pointless buying songs i already have. Some versions on the movie were well cool.

Going to see it on Saturday, already got my "This Is It" CD (worth having just for the Beat It and Wanna Be Startin Somethin' demo versions) and got an official "This Is It" T-Shirt as well.

I miss MJ. Hopefully this movie will provide me with some sort of closure.

I was surprised by how much I appreciated the documentary. His show would have ONE HELL OF A SHOW.

I thought it sucked for all these people that worked so hard (including MJ) that it ended like this. They put their soul in this.

I couldn't believe how amazing the documentary was.
He was gonna put together one HELL of a show..

It was so nice to see the REAL MJ..see his normal side...seeing him in normal activities and etc. You could tell he was getting pissy at a lot of things, but he still maintained his cool.

When they did the Thriller part and you saw him, he didn't look like he was 50. He didn't look like he was 50 at all through out the shows. He seemed like he was in great health (which he was, according to the autopsy). He looked like he was in his early 30s.

The background dancers was just pure amazing. They were so incredible. The singers were also awesome.

And that girl that played the guitar, Orianthi Panagaris, looked hot as all hell.


The only thing I really looked forward to but they didn't show any of, was MJ doing the moon walk.

I understand to him it was just rehearsals, which is why probably, he wasn't BUSTING out the moves real hardcore like he would have at his shows, but I really wanted to see him do the moon walk at age 50.

When he was dancing, he didn't move as much as he should have. Again, I'm only guessing it was because he was just rehearsing. It wasn't a FULL dress rehearsal through out the show, so it didn't seem like he was in FULL action.

Just back from seeing it. It was class, a lot better than i thought it would be. It would have been some concert.

I think its going to be a lot better than people expect. I'm keen to see how it does at the box office when the sales figures are released next week. I think 'word of mouth' is what will make this film a success.

True, I don't think anyone can even fathom what a great show it was going to be, had it worked out. I'll always tell myself it was going to be the greatest show humanity would ever witness. I felt sorry for all the people behind the production. They looked so happy, so hyped, so dedicated. Its almost like they were going to have a lifetime experience while the concerts were on. M.J's death crushed so many of them without a doubt.

Its nice to see most of us responding the same way to the documentary. Its beyond expectations without a doubt and, that always a good thing.

I noticed that about the dancers too, they are so good at what they do. I loved the bit when the dancers came on during 'shake your body'. That just showed what a class of dancers they are.

That's exactly how I felt, except I knew he wasn't gonna be doing any moon walking because you told me earlier that's what the show was missing.


But even then, I was hoping he'd do some sort of moon walking, but there was nothing.

Either way, it was done pretty nicely, especially with the time frame they had to put it together and all.

As far as I can remember, I remember them saying they had over 80 hours of footage, so when the DVD comes out, best believe there's gonna be a deluxe package with lots of hours of unseen footage and etc. Can't wait for that to come out.

Yep i spotted that, he just never really went all out.

Obviously it was just rehersals so he was just getting everything into place so when it came to the concerts he could really step up a gear and really let himself go. Much like what a boxers does when he spars, practise the moves, try different things, then when its showtime go for gold.

But it wasn't THE moon walk...which was the most disappointing part.

I'm also looking forward to the DVD release just because of the extras. Not to mention how many times I'll probably watch it over and over again. At least it won't be a long wait since its coming out in December.

The CD has the regular songs on it, but some of them are re-mastered (to me thats a big deal). From the way fans have requested for versions on the film, there is a possibility that 'Songs from the Original Motion Picture' might be released.

Its not such a far fetched idea, the same was done for 'Transformers Original Motion Picture Score'. It was announced that it won't be released but fan requests made them finally give in. Although some of the songs were tweaked on that as well.

Saw it on Saturday....and yes, it made me cry. I miss MJ a lot and can't help feel like this world is a colder place without him.

Loved the video sequences, especially the ones for "Smooth Criminal" and "Earth Song".

Curious to know if I'm the only one here that ever saw him live. Yes, "This Is It" would have been a spectacular show, but I'm thinking it seems even more spectacular to you guys because you didn't already know what an MJ show is like.

I saw the HIStory tour in 1997 and it was much like "This Is It" in the sense that it was very theatrical, lots of insanely expensive props, video segments, etc.

As far as the one show rumor goes, it's kind of true, but he would have done more than one show, what I'm hearing from people close to the family is that he would have done 5-10. Spread out the dates so there was more time in between. 10 was all he initially agreed to anyway and he had a legal team ready to fight it out with AEG.

The more I think about it, the more I think AEG are directly responsible for his death. At the very least there is something that we the public do not know. Not everything is adding up.

Also, don't expect to see any of the versions of the songs that were in the movie released. Not gonna happen.

I highly doubt it. Yes they probably put pressure on him. But blame the doctors who gave him all those prescriptions drugs that made him end up buried. Also a lot of people think his drug problems all started after the pepsi commercial and I more and more think it might be what triggered it.

Unfortunately MJ is the one who choose to get those drugs. Yes the doctors didn't oppose to it when they saw the $$$ and yes AEG put pressure when he clearly wasn't up for it but at the end MJ decided to put up with all of this. And I recall seeing an interview when he mentioned he wanted to die like Elvis Presley. Now he has it.

Also, don't expect to see any of the versions of the songs that were in the movie released. Not gonna happen.

Good to see you back in this thread. So far I think you're the only one that has mentioned watching MJ live. I only have one DVD of him performing live and its a great show. Although not on a large scale production its still really entertaining to watch.

If he indeed intended on battling it legally to stop at 10 shows, that brings out a side of MJ that I've never been able to defend. Even though he initially agreed to 10, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have announced 50 shows without having MJ's personal input. I have no idea about contract law so, that would have been for the courts to decide. It really is all hypothetical since its not going to happen anyway.

I think from what us non medical experts have heard and saw from the media (yeah we all know what that means), MJ died as a result of his own doing. Carmi already summed up the main points for me.

Yep, you could always wait for the dvd but, the cinema experience is worthwhile. If everyone on here has been positive about the film, you don't have much to lose in terms of time or money

Ah, I didn't mean it like that. I'm not over his death and I had tickets for July 18th to see him live, I spent £300 for 4 tickets and haven't asked for a refund. My issue is that I don't want to see it and feel saddened by the fact that he isn't here.
