Mice in the house

I live in a wooded area and they found their way into our house. For anyone who's had problems with mice before...

I'm wondering how fast they reproduce because either there are a hundred mice in the house or the 20 I've captured and set free are actually the same ones that keep finding their way in.

Besides crapping everywhere and opening bags/boxes for food do they cause any problems?

Also any ideas on how I could mark them without harming them? Keeping in mind that they'll get wet once they're outside.

On a side-note, those fuckers can jump!

they can carry the black plague, which can be transferred through their feces/urine. Their urine can also lead to mould which can be harmful to babies and the elderly.

The ones you release are probably the same ones in your home if you just opened the door and threw them out. Theres no humane way of getting rid of them other than capturing them and driving miles away to let them out. Get a cat or a shitload of mouse traps

Are you sure you're not thinking of rats with the black plague? I checked on wikipedia and it says "House mice can transmit diseases" but it doesn't mention what kind.

I think I'll have to check the house for holes a couple more times as other mice will just find their way inside after we've killed the current ones. I really don't want to resort to killing them but I guess there's no choice if throwing them out doesn't work :(

The ideal situation would be for me to capture and tame them and then train them to kill people. The hag next door will be the first to go.

Maybe you should call a rat exterminator or something man...that's way too many rats...

I wouldn't worry too much about the black plague either way.

Haha yeah. I'm not worried about diseases from them really. They can't get to our food and I no longer let them crawl on my arm after one bit me (guess I was asking for it). I'm mostly worried about them gnawing on cables and starting a fire or something I haven't thought of.

It's a shame cause they're cool to watch.

black plague wont be a problem. when was the last time you heard anybody was killed by the black plague lol

If you want to mark them there are glue traps you could use, and then just brush them with some paint or something.

Chronic you should seriously hire an exterminator asap. Not only do they breed like little fucks, their urine is quite toxic and will enter the air when it dries up. Their urine can lead to some pretty serious diseases.

I prepared a box with food and a blanket so I can keep the ones I catch overnight and then mark them the next day and set them free. Yesterday I caught 2 and 20 minutes ago I was ready to mark them. I lift the blanket to see where they are and what do I see? 6 baby mice.

You set them free?
You let them run around on your arm?
You want to mark them to see if they come back?
If this is a joke thread (the keeping them alive part), you just made my day. If this is real, you freaked me out.
I corner them with shoe boxes, and hit them with my slippers until they breath no more. Like Chris from The Wire, "I Keep it Quick".

Turns out both mice were pregnant so there are now 12 baby mice in the box, alive and well. I was lucky as fuck I caught them when I did or there would be 12 extra mice ready to breed running around the house in 1-2 months.

Yeah I have this weird thing about not wanting to kill animals unless it's absolutely necessary. God forbid what the world would look like if people had respect for any and every living being *shivers*
