*We don't have all of the details, but it would appear that singer/actor Marques Houston has gone and gotten his new video banned by BET because of over exposure. Now, we all know that it if it was banned by BET for overexposure, it must really be a humdinger. This one we ... just have to see.
It just so happens that the video is for the title track of Houston's new CD, "Naked," which drops today. Well, isn't that a coincidence?
Houston claims that the video is a form of art and nothing more. Well, apparently the folks at BET, who love showing skin, don't like "art," Marques. In addition the singer's reps say he was asked to pull out of the upcoming “Scream” tour which consist of Omarion, Mario, Nick Cannon and Lil Bow-Bow because of the younger crowd expected to attend. But as far as we know, Houston is still on the tour.
In the meantime, T.U.G. (The Ultimate Group) the management company of Marques Houston, Omarion, DAME (and formerly B2K) is in the process of negotiating with BET to come to a compromise. A re-shoot or re-edit of the video may be in order before it can be aired.
In other Marques Houston news, he'll be at the Virgin Record Store in Time Square today directly after his MTV TRL appearance. Yes, he will perform cuts from the new "Naked" CD. His handlers say the performance is expected to shut down Times Square. Maybe so if they show that banned video!
