Just watching the news. Jodi Jones was killed by her boyfriend. It was pretty brutal he tied her up cut her throat, then slashed her face and body. They report about what an evil person, then had to mention that he was "infactuated with shock rocker Marilyn Manson", whom they paint as a satan worshipper.
I hate the media, don't they believe that people can think for themselves?

I agree that the media blows shit out of proportion at times but in this case I think they are on the right track.... kind of.

As this shit went down in Scotland, we've got a lot of coverage of this shit & while I would never say that it's Manson's fault that this kid is fucked in the head, there are strong indications (in the way Jodi Jones was killed and then mutilated) that Mitchell was trying to make a 'copycat' kill. The person he was copying was some killer that Manson has referenced a few times.

Once again, it ain't Manson fault but I don't think there can be any doubt that when a kid is mentally unstable, all types of shit affect him more than your average, from music, to TV, to the fucking weather!

i was just sharing my opinion on the music "blame game" in general.even though manson mentions a particular person in his song doesn't give the listeners any reason to go out and act upon it. for example: tupac talks about shooting people and thug shit like that, but im not compelled to go out and buy a pistol and move to california

Oh mos. def. Manson isn't putting the gun in the kid's hand. I did say that, ultimately, I blame the kid.

But to deny the influence of Manson's music on him (once again see my post), would just be ignorant. And Manson is just 'expressing his emotions, etc. blah blah blah' but those emotions have a profound effect on a kid who's head isn't right.

As for what you said about Tupac, well if you were severely fucked in the head, which I don't think you are, you probably would move to California or at least try to shoot somebody on your block if they pissed you off

I think its the kids fault as he is responsible for his own actions. But i think people like Marilyn Manson do indirectly provoke this kind of behaviour. I don't know if it is his intention to do so, but his name always seems to be related to Murders and violence, especially by the newspapers.

That is an ignorant comment, and the media are twisting your thoughts, like they intended. You either have the capacity to kill or you don't and it doesn't matter what music you listen too. You influence what music you prefer, and the music doesn't influence you to do anything you don't want to.
