at the top of the cross you can see a little flag. Im an Assyrian and when I saw that I started wondering why it was put there, any info on this will be good.

It's not a flag. It's a compass-type of thing, indicating directions. You can see the "W" for "west" on the tip pointing left and the "E" for "east" behind the "V" in Makaveli. The entire cross is a map (look at the texture) with cities on it.
