Would you let yourself be tortured to save a loved one from being tortured?

i'd like to say yes but this is one hypothetical i can't really speculate on. while i like to think of myself as a considerate guy, even a considerate guy can only consider so much lol. in all likelyhood i would probably not. but then again, i would probably be unable to live with myself so i would have to kill myself.

man, this one is a tough nut.

Well... if the sitaution was, I get tortured instead of my Wife for example... I wouldn't settle there, i'd go as far as dying for her... and for my kids... there's no doubt about it, death before dishonor... I'd rather die knowing I protected my family, their honor and their lives instead of livin' life like a coward knowing I didn't do everything I could.

Well now that I think of it, if I let someone I loved get tortured, and I lived, then I could disappear into the jungle, live on twigs and hunt with my bare hands, gradually getting stronger and more fierce until I climb the nearby mountainside and challenge the mountain village elder in combat. After defeating me, the elder agrees to train me, so one day I could exact revenge on those who killed my family.

After years of training and practice doing Van Damme splits, I descend down the mountain after finally defeating the elder, with me I carry an eagle feather and a combat loincloth. I track those who killed my family through three continents until finally catching up with them in a Bangkok bathhouse. What happens then is the greatest fight scene ever witnessed, yet it was only witnessed by the eldest hooker, a gangly woman with a pegleg, but with lips like Angelina Jolie. I defeat the torturers, dismember them with scissor kicks, and ride off into the smoggy Bangkok sunset with the pegleg hooker.

Good ending, yet I still leave room for a potential sequel.

There's something, you think about... you're kind of hesitant about it... but the answer to this question to me came so naturally... i'd die for my loved ones, i'd do anything I could to make sure they're happy, safe and alive... I was raised this way, and I've had loved ones who've done the same for me... so to me, it's not even a question... it's like, an automatic response...
