Film & TV Losing a sports franchise

As the summer starts to unveil I can't stop to think about how much it sucks to have no more baseball team, it's like I'm watching major league distant from another planet....

Growing up in Montreal and playing baseball at one time was hand in hand, especially for us in the latino community, when Dennis Martinez, Pascual Perez, Dave Martinez and Andres Galaraga were huge here, baseball games were the place to be... Tim Raines stealing 90 bases a year. Tim Wallach racking up the RBI's

Then came the Dominican Expos invasion of the 90's Pedro Martinez, Moises Alou, Mel Rojas, Carlos Perez, same time Larry Walker, Marquis Grissom, Cliff Floyd, Rondell White, Ken Hill, John Wettland were all on the team and kicked ass ...

Even the last couple of years with Vladdy, Vidro, Cabrera, Vasquez, Wilkerson were fun...

But you could tell something was up when MLB bought the team, they sold the piece of land that was going to be used for a downtown staduim and slashed payroll by millions and blamed the fans for not showing up

Just wanted to say its going to be a long boring shitty summer with no baseball team, and fuck the Nationals...

Was just wondering if anybody out there lives in a city where a team they grew up with and loved doesnt exist anymore

Peace

I'd view losing the Expos as losing an STD
yea thats cuz it ain't your team

i can understand it ain't like i lost the most incredible sports team in history, but it was still my team ya feel me?

its like having a broken down car your whole life, sure it aint the best car, but every day when you wake up it starts and gets you from point a to point b, other people ride in their mercedes and speed past you, but you dont give a fuck cuz you got your car, but then one day its not like you wake up and it wont start, you wake up and its just gone

bud selig is the std btw not the expos :thumb:

this soer of thing happend to a football team called Wimbledon FC in england.

they had been ground sharing with Crystal Palace at selhurst park (in london)for 10 yr probably more, but the owners decided to move them up north 40-50 miles 2 milton keynes. but most of the wimbledon fans kicked off and started there own team called AFC Wimbledon.

so why dont your home town start a new baseball team up?
