PuffnScruff said:it's more than just a handful of people.
PuffnScruff said:because they aren't just going into walmarts taking t.v.'s and shit. they are going into people homes, walking over the dead bodies of the home owners and taking their personal, private, and family belongings. heirlooms are being taken by these looters out of GREED! one officer said we should shoot the looters leave them dead in the homes they are robbing and leave them marked with a tag that says looter on it. and they should. fuck em. what gives those looters the right to the items they are taking? food is one thing. going into peoples homes, stepping over the dead bodies of the home owners, and taking their things is another.
Duke said:The point is that there are people "using" this tragedy to become better themselves by looting valuables, instead of helping other people.
And that, dear Tupacboard, is despicable :thumb:

edit: i meant to quote the post before yours
K1NGP1N KuRuPT said:all these people got stripped of everything that was theres in a matter of hours. i would probably be looting everything i can too. and everything is so limited right now, there's no point letting it go to waste if the owner's are dead, no matter what it is. thats fucked up but its reality. i can't even imagine what's going through all these people's heads
Duke said:And that relates to my argument how exactly?
It doesn't. At all.
It's an incredible tragedy, of course, but no matter how much you've lost, it doesn't make it right to steal other people's posessions. Especially not when you're not even helped by it. And even more especially when there is such a tragedy and you could be being a useful human being instead of a tv-looter.
K1NGP1N KuRuPT said:alright i didn't really word what i'm saying that well, it makes me look like i think stealing from dead people is aright. but what i'm saying is, you can't really blame these people for their actions. after what happened to their home, you think their first thoughts are gonna be very rational? they've been through something that not many people have, they're in a panic. they're taking what they can, while they can. thats just what i think before you guys gang up on me. also, how do you expect them to be useful? they're the ones in need of help.
PuffnScruff said:i can understand what you are saying. but that way of thinking is just selfishness. they should have been focusing their time on getting the hell out of there.
does anyone think that if martial law was put into place any of this would be worse, better, or the same?
just because they lost everything and need help doesnt mean that they cant be helpful, go out there, and help people rescue & recover victims. thats what i would be doing if i was down there. i wouldnt be sitting on my ass waiting for hours for a ride to houston. i would be asking the officers, guards, and rescue workers if i can help at all.
