ALFA ROMEO 156 JTD 2.4 LUSSO, 2002/ 02 REG, 66000 MILES

What do you think?

FSH, Diesel Engine - 40 MPG, Full Leather.

Cheapish runaround. Although is gonna cost about $14K.

Pro's: It's an Alfa and Alfa is fun. It's a good looking car (i swear, if you buy this, put some 18 inch spoked rims on them, looks mad tight). It's a diesel so that means good fuel economy, plus Alfa's diesels seem to be very good indeed.

Con's: 66000 miles is substantial. Alfas arent the most reliable cars around and servicing could be a bitch.

if you can afford it without hurting future plans to get a very very nice car, and you kept in the back of your head that owning this car could get perhaps a wee bit more expensive than you first figured, i'd say by all means go for it :D :thumb:

EDIT: i tried to find it but failed, what does the Lusso edition contain? how's the kit you get? i noticed it has red leather seats so thats nice

not bad. i advise you to thoroughly check how the car feels. squeaks, rattles etc. pay attention to the service history etc. if it looks fine, fuck, get it. an Alfa is a great subsitute car for a short period of time. much better than 205 gti's or that american monstrosity you posted earlier. :)

He fucked me about and won't answer my calls. So he loses a customer.

Anyway I'm having trouble with cheaper cars. I've added £10K ($18) to my budget. Still trying to decide what to get. Wish I lived in US. I'd buy a pimped out F150 Harley Davidson. Thought about trying to buy 1 and import it, but too much hassle. Even though they done it in this months American Car world.

My opinion, alfa's spell out unreliable everytime i hear the name. My brother has a 156 which handles awesomely but apparently the BB's of the wheels are fucking up now so you get this rattling noise when he drives. My good mate had a spider and compared to some cars u get for the same price, it was pretty average.

I recommend any of these (with your budget)
Ducati 999

Suzuki Hyabusa

An older boxster (this is the 2000 model)

And if u get any of the above. When i come there, you allow me to ride.... Hyabusa's are just ridiculous.

lol

I haven't completed my bike licence yet. I've been meaning to for a year. I have a Kwak ZXR400, when I get a bit more experience I'll get a bigger bike. I'm quite into the Ducati's.

Ehrm, a S4 or even RS4 is a bit more expensive than a second hand 156.

And i wish people would stop going into car threads and say: "You should get A or B", because obviously you like the car. That doesn't mean the other bloke does and it wasnt the point of his thread.

I mean, when tomorrow someone posts a thread about whether to choose for a Golf III or a 206 as a first car, I won't go in there and say he needs to get himself an AMG Merc, because surprise, surprise, that would be totally irrelevant.

I said those cars because they are the best for their price. I love every car out there. The ones I quoted have the least problems.
I got a Mercedes S500 and I didn't tell you to go buy that because you would be spending a lot of money on fixing it like I am right now.
The Audi S4 and BMW 5 series is around that price range here.
You must also remember there is a big price difference for vehicles around the world.
If you believe that you won't have any problems with the car you want get it; just make sure to get it checked out.
