List of Internet Sites blocked in China

Either you're ability at internet sarcasm is not as strong as Jokermans or your facts are askew. 1 kilo of shrimp in china is about 1.50 USD.
Umm, this is a direct source. My girlfriend is CHINESE. She just got her citizenship this summer. Except for her and her parents, her entire family lives over there. She actually just told me this a couple days ago when she found out. Weird coincidence that I had a chance to use this piece of info.

Her mother once bought two shrimp for her mother (my g/f's grandmother), and it was the best shrimp meal she's ever had. They simply can't afford to eat it ever.

Ya, I'm Chinese too. I went there 3 summers ago and went to a restaurant where they sold a plate of shrimp for 3 bucks Canadian. Ever hear of Dried Shrimp? It's sold at a few bucks a kilo. Your girlfriend is probably from some remote area faaaarrrr away from coastal areas or ANY fish market or shes lying.

Edit: Also, China produces the most shrimp in the world, almost a million tons in 2004, 3x more than the runner up (Thailand). Thailand exports almost all of its production while China keeps most of it domestically. There would be NO WAY for the price of shrimp to be 100 bucks each with such a large supply.

I'll ask her about it, but her mom's side of the family is entirely from Beijing. That's where she was born and is visiting in two weeks.

OK, I got the clarification. I got the currency mixed up. It was 99 Yuan for one jumbo shrimp in Beijing. And her salary was 2000 Yuan a month, not US dollars.
