Anyone been there recently (or at all)? Any stories? Pictures? Anything?
Where'd you stay? What'd you do?

Yes. I spent a fair few months "living" there with my wife. I say "living" because even though I actually didn't permanently reside there, that's what it feels like when you're just doing every day normal things - as opposed to visiting somewhere purely as a tourist and staying in hotels, etc. We got married there also. I'd advise that you not do that. LOL.

Touristy stuff aside, which is fun - for a while - I can't say I'm a big fan of the place. Way too hot, way too ghetto. But it's aight. Fun, in moderation.

Funny you ask these questions. I was wondering myself. I'm thinking of going there some time in August.

Best hotels? Best places to visit? Best nightclubs? Best casinos?

Stayed at the Treasure Island a year back. Nice hotel (has a big pirate ship with daily shows in it), but the casino is minimal; although they have their own Cirque Du Soleil show which was incredible! (as far as I know you get a free ticket to the show if you book with the hotel) I'm not a big gambling fan so barely did any gambling, but had a tone of fun. (although I would recomend Mexico 1000x over vegas).
My favorite Clubs are XS (In the Encore building): its one of the most popular clubs in Vegas right now. It has a huge stage as well as a big pool outside with cabana's.
Moon at the Palms: Palms is off the strip, but they have about 5 clubs and they are all worth it. They have the Playboy Club (which is more of a lounge) where you can play blackjack with the playboy bunnies as the dealers. You take the escalator up 2 floors from the Playboy Club and you go to Moon. The night at the club starts pretty cool, but then the roof of the club opens up & you can see the entire strip, its crazy!
If you want to hit up a strip club then you gotta go to Sapphire's, the largest strip joint in the world...dont get too excited tho because they'll suck you dry in no time. My buddy had to have money wired to him because he spent it all in that place within like an hour.

I stayed at New York, New York. It was OK. I wouldn't recommend it, it's like a medium hotel. All accomodation is cheap, and my favourite hotel is Mandalay Bay, so if I went back, that's where I'd stay. But anywhere on the strip is good, and Hard Rock Cafe is supposed to be good for a party.

What are you looking for? Clubs, restaurants, Shopping?

Ive been twice. Stayed at MGM then the Bellagio. I cant stand the place now, it just typifies excess. My wife really wants to go but neither of us are gamblers.. We'll probably see a show there then head to the Grand Canyon for a few days.

i went in 07 and stayed at luxor, good hotel. the best and nicest imo were bellagio or ceasars. as for clubs, LAX in luxor was pretty good but way too busy as it was opening night, bar in TI was good also. i loved it so hoping to bak in oct or def next year sometime.

for gambling some dealers told us to go to places off the strip as u win more, dunno how this can be tru but i can say i lost a grand in 4 days on the strip

I was in Vegas for 8 days straight in '09 for Spring Break. I went to a shit ton of bars/lounges and clubs but I can't name any of them. Most clubs named here sound familiar. I stayed at the Monte Carlo. The steak and eggs breakfast at 6am for $5 after drinking all night was stellar.

said it a couple of times: didn't really like it when I was there. Fun to see it for two nights but I wouldn't stay any longer. I dunno.

I've never been there. I plan on going this July or August. Most likely though, someone will bitch out and everyone else will too.

I don't feel like going with my co-workers who go every month of the summer, they seem to do the same things and dont have any new stories besides bragging about going to Vegas.

One thing I regret about Vegas is not taking the time to go drive out to the Grand Canyon. I also didn't see one show of any kind. It was all just drinking.

I was with some friends who spent the whole time betting and drinking. I took the helicopter ride with 2 couples whom I knew from back home, and who were out there at the same time. I was a gooseberry, but I got to see some of the sights. I wanted to do a show, but there wasn't much that took my fancy.

I'm going there September for a couple weeks. It's been a while since last time I was there. I'm staying at the MGM. I thought I'd hear stories on what others did and where they ate/drank and etc. When's the next time you're looking to go out there?

I was hoping to rent a jet ski or two and go to Lake Mead for a day while I'm out there...has anyone gone to the lake and done the water activities?

I drank for the four days I was there. Used to bet on the horses during the day to get the free drinks and always ended up making a profit on the gambling, by $20 or so.....

I didn't go to nay good restaurants, just ate junk food I think, can't remember really. I want to a few clubs at MGM, in NY NY and in Mixx. Worked my way along the strip.

I want to go back, and there was discussion with a colleague at work about him going to LV for his stag. But his friends don't get paid like we get paid and didn't want to spend £1500 on a stag do.

I am looking to go back in 2012, I reckon. I want to go to SF again, and I want to do LA properly as I spent most of my time downtown last time I was there.
