Film & TV Laker Trade Going Down This Weekend?!?!

#1
Looks like the Lakers will be getting Carlos Boozer this weekend, for Butler, George and probably Divac....

PG- Atkins
SG- Bryant
SF- Odom
PF- Boozer
C- Mihm

I have mixed feelings about the trade, obviously giving up a future star in Butler hurts, ALOT, especially since he seems to be molding more with Kobe then Odom is. However the Lakers are in BIG need of a big man, especially if they want a fighting chance in the playoffs and this also moves Odom back to his natural position of SF. Boozers numbers are great this year 18 ppg and 10 rbg , even though his defense is a lil slack, he will still give the Lakers a big help.

Jack Haley on Radio

He said Lakers will be trading 3 players this weekend for 1 player who will give them the frontcourt help they need...

He didn't say Boozer, just everything else indicates it will be Boozer. Rumours have been flying saying Nene, but theres no way I see Denever let Nene.

Others say Ray Allen, but it would be pointless to trade for Allen, because in that case for contract reasons they would have to give up Odom, but at the same time Sonic dont need Odom they have Lewis.

Baron Davis is the other rumour since he's already in LA, but again it would be pointless to get smaller.

Also word on the street has Phil Jackson coming back for 5 years at 10 mill a year

This is funny. Any GM would give up Caron Butler and George and Divac for Boozer. Laker fans would suck dick for this type of trade. Kobe at SG, Odom at SF, and Boozer at PF would really do some damage. I doubt it's true. I don't see the Jazz being that much stupid and trading away a guy like Boozer. I can't believe you have mixed feelings about the trade.

You havent seen Caron Butler play. He shows promise of developing into a all-star type player. Hes quicker than Kobe and I think he is better athletically. Of course he aint got Kobes skills. Butler is a nice player. It would suck to see him go. But, Boozer would give us a great presence with Chris Mihm.

Are you krazy? Caron quicker than Kobe and more athletically? What the hell have u been watching? Kobe is one of the fastest in the game and probably the most athletic...... trust me I would know, I have league pass and watch my team the Lakers everytime they play.

I liked Butler when he first came into to the league. He was dope. Now, he's sort of falling off. But, the point is, the Lakers don't need a player like Caron Butler at all, while they desperately need a player like Boozer.

Besides Tito , yall are underestimating Butler. Obviously getting Boozer is great and takes some pressure of Mihm downlow, and is great because Mihm is showing great potential. However it's not Boozer is a dominating presence, he had great years in Cleveland however that was in the smaller east, can Boozer hold up against Duncan in the playoffs if Lakers get 8th seed and Spurs get 1st. I don't know, he is on the block because supposedly Sloan has had it with Boozers lack luster defence. The Jazz is Sloans team way before it'll ever be Boozers.

Don't forget before the season started Arroyo was being sold as one of the cornerstones of the Jazz future and franchise, where is he now?

This trade works out for both sides, Sloan feels more comfotable with AK-47 at PF at this will give them the opportunity.

The reason why I'm not a 100% on pulling the trigger on this trade is because anybody that knows basketball knows that Butler is a blue chip prospect , and is a sleeper, surrounded by the right influences he will be great, yall are forgetting him and Odom are the guys that held it down for Miami last playoffs, while Boozer doesnt necesarilly have a guaranteed consistent future in him.

^Actually, it was Wade and Odom that held it down in the playoffs. Also, how does a guy like Boozer not have a consistent future when he's for sure gonna be a 20-10 guy for years to come? Now, you're saying how will he hold up against Duncan and the rest of the West? Well, how will the Lakers hold up against Duncan with Butler? The Lakers are in a rebuilding state, and I'm pretty sure that a guy like Butler would never co-exist sucessfully with Kobe. If he's a blue chip project like you say, that means he's due to blow up soon. Well, that'll never happen if he plays with Kobe, and you know that. Kobe can't really co-exist with Odom either, because Odom needs the ball in his hands too much. Boozer is a scrapper, he'll do the dirty work, get the offensive rebounds that Kobe would need. I'm telling you, the Lakers would definetely need a trade like this.

Rumours keep flying

Steven A. Smith, Marc Stein, Bucher confirmed that the Lakers have been in talks to get Boozer for the last few days. Stein said he wouldn't be suprised if it went down. Ric Bucher said he thinks not and Screaming A. Smith was 50-50. They also said that the talks involving Boozer were not including Odom.

And there has been lil rumblings about a Odom and player for Peja and Bobby Jackson...

Heres a article about it being maybe Boozer or Baron Davis
