Labolt Interview

WOW you really need to spell check that shit, was kinda hard to read. Anyway nice interview.

the Loyal to the Game album created ‘new Tupac fans’ which is what we intended from the beginning. We wanted to reach those who were not Tupac’s fans – and now they are!

In the end thats what it boils down to, fuck the fans who already love Pac for what HE created.

Yeah. For you Jay and Silent Bob fans, watch "An Evening with Kevin Smith" [Silent Bob], it's the guy going to different colleges and speaking there. There's a part where he talks about how Prince hired him to film some stuff, and he eventually talks about how Prince is all weird and shit.

But Prince is no Michael Jackson though, hehe
aye, but i didn't mean wacko-weird, i meant like weird with clearing samples and all that shit lol. seems he would earlier, but not anymore.

I was talking about sampling in general. How Big syke managed to get it cleared and Amaru claiming they "could't"...
Also Heartz Of Men samples Prince...

good point. saying not being able to get sample clearance as an excuse for not releasing original beats on EVERY song is abit far fetched. syke used alot of beats pac used, or one's that sounded similar. he used closest road dogz og for "till the end", and a similar sample (if any) to thug 4 life og on "satellite niggaz". Now i dont have a clue whetehr these are sampled. but it illusrated amaru have a lack of determination to clear certain songs when they bloody well could with abit of effort.

2pac video game, talk about milkin it, why dont they focus on his music
50 cent did it and he sells millions so now amaru think that they have to do it as well.

with that being said, they would be fools for not releasing a soundtrack with unreleased material on it that would also be used as music in the game.

Quick question, she spoke on a "Spoken word album" with Koch, what the hell is that? So is this going to be an official album for 2005? Since Amaru releases an album every year? Also does that mean we wont get a real 2Pac album until 2006 for the 10th year? Hmm...I thought they would do the album now then do the greatest hits on the 10th year.

my question iz, who wouldent want to clear a sample 4 a tupac album? tupac iz legend status now....a sample from 1 of princes songs on a tupac album is good promotion for prince, if u think bout it!!! hed be an idiot to deny an offer like that!!! i just think that excuse iz bullshit.

Last year I remember a sample law being passed which gave more power to artists to protect their music from samples. I remember at the time everyone saying it will effect Hip Hop alot since it samples so much. Anyone who can clear this up go ahead :)

'98? Would seem to make a lot of sense now.

RUSD was chock-full of OG or near-OG versions, with OG artists remaining on the tracks.

Greatest Hits was awesome, and even went so far as to keep Stretch on one of the "new and unreleased tracks"

Then Lapolt came in. I assume she didn't have enough time to fuck up Still I Rise, which as bad as it was in terms of keeping OG artists and beats, was still a pretty decent album.

Then it all went to hell.

Now it makes sense.

Nice interview but Amaru dont give a fuck about og fans. Also didnt Pac already pay for samples back when he made them? I dont see much point in supporting Pac (through buying 2Pac goods) after reading Amaru's will and thoughts on the future of Pac.

AEOP: Also a lot of fans disagreed with Eminem's style to alter tempo of Tupac's vocals. Do you feel this is justified way to handle unreleased material?

A lot of Tupac’s fans loved the record and, more importantly, the Loyal to the Game album created ‘new Tupac fans’ which is what we intended from the beginning. We wanted to reach those who were not Tupac’s fans – and now they are!

So what they chose to do, to reach new fans, is sell Tupac's mortal legacy down the drain?

Clap clap.

Of course, what else can you expect from Dina, she's said she aint even a fan herself before. I guess she is now seeing as Pac "did" a track with a homosexual artist, herself being homosexual, perhaps Pac finally "reached" her?
