KRS-One gets commercial

#1
KRS-One is a hip-hop pioneer, icon, philosopher and teacher rolled into a single package. It seems that the former BDP rapper will now be able to add another to his list of titles: Chrysler Compass SUV representative.

The new vehicle launches July 31st and will be accompanied by a mass marketing campaign that features the KRS-One song ‘Steady Bounce’ which is taken from his 2001 outing, Strictly for the Breakdancers & Emceez. There will be four variations of the thirty second commercial which is aimed a twenty-to-thirty year old age bracket.

Chrysler marketing executives wish to use hip-hop to make the vehicle attractive to a particular audience, and also to create an image and brand different to their larger vehicles such as the Jeep Wrangler and Cherokee.

The new Compass will also make use of advertising space in hip-hop magazines to reach its intended audience.
