Film & TV Kingdom of Heaven A must see movie!

I went to the Theater not knowing what I was going to see, it was between Kingdom of Heaven and House of wax, I wisely chose Kingdom of heaven, not realizing what the plot was.

it is a Story about the crusades in the 12th century and how the Muslims and Christians have been fighting for Jerusalem since way back.

The two kings that lead the army's one Christian the other Muslim are great characters neither of which seem to love there religion or hate the other, but they do what is expected of them.

I don't know just go watch it you will like it!

Yeah, ive been interested in it too. Apart from my thirst for knowledge about anything medieval (especially war), i don't expect Hollywood to be accurate so i won't judge the movie on that.

But apart from that, masses of armour clad knights and warriors chopping each other to bits in an epic setting?

I wouldnt exactly call it a "must see" but it was ok, better than some of the other shit out at the moment. I agree though, the Muslim king was a good actor, not sure what to make of the others.

Bloom cant act worth shit, he had the same emotional range throughout the whole movie, just straight flat. I couldnt feel anything he was saying.

The script wasnt that great, and they fucked up some facts.

Its not a must see, it wasnt great at all. It was average, saved only by some visuals and a great supporting cast.

Thankfuck I'm not the only person who feels that way about the guy. Most people I know cream their jeans over him, and for no discernable reason, because, as you said - he's a flat actor. I can't ever get into his roles in anything =/

Yea Bloom sucks. I hated him in Lord of the Rings and I hated him in every movie I saw by him afterwards.

i thought kingdom of heaven wuz wack...yea some decent fightin but wut movie doesn't have that...agree wit u guys orlando can't act...i din't mind him in lotr but this wuz weak...i would really like to check some of the "facts" this movie based itself on too..i kinda wish i saw house of wax instead...

I saw the movie on its opening day i liked it, wasnt great but worth the money i spent on it, Ghassan massoud (saladin) was great, im glad they didnt make him out to be a the warmonger like many westerners believe, he was more like a liberator. it is also a fact that he was kind, noble and honourable, and showed mercy to all non muslims in that region even tho the crusaders asked for it.

I think that was intended to some extent.... you know.... emotionally vacant after the death of the wife and kid, or whatever.

In movies like this, I always struggle with the accents. To me, it is a bit of a misdirection to have some people, like the Princess/Queen speaking with a slight accent, but the rest with almost british-like accents. I know they are contrained as it is marketed towards english speaking countries, but I dunno, it just bothers me.

Yeah but hes supposed to over come that. He doesnt even greive! He doesnt have any passion what so ever. I mean hes leading all these people, he must CARE for them, or care what happens, but he doesnt show any of that emotion. Even his speaches that the whole crowd supposidly gets inspired by, was just flat and boring. I wouldnt follow the guy into battle based on what he said.

Some knights did. Unsure whether they were actually Templars or not, but certainly not every knight was a goody two shoes. The name "Reynald de Chatillon" pops up. he was a naughty naughty knight and the prince of antioch. he pissed off a lot of people, including saladin. he was captured along with the king of jerusalem during the battle of hattin. practically every captured templar and hospitaller was slain by saladins men, save for the templar grand master and king guy. chatillon made the fabulous mistake of pissing saladin off after being captured and he got the chop.

there was some knights who werent knightly and just bastards. the majority was "pure" however.
