just a thought

i was looking at my sisters lately and it scares me... at their age (one he's 11 and the other one is 12 years old) i was playing outside, enjoying my young years. but them all they wanna look like is sexy and have all the boys staring at them. i mean wtf is that? that's all the fault of movies and celebrities. and the pression of all the media that says that a girl must be sexy and everything. it's scary. the youth of today is not the what it used to be. today at 13-14 years old girls have already lost their virginity and everything. okay lets not generalize all of that cuz it aint true for everywhere but its scares me. as i see my sisters acting crazy like that i'm wondering what's the world of tomorrow?

yep, I've noticed that too, and it's scary. When I was 12 I was playing with my Barbies and just behaving like a child, but now I see girls that age wearing sexy clothes and lots of make up when their bodies aren't still fully formed, and they don't even have a waist yet. And they know A LOT about sex as well! It's a pity really, they should enjoy their childhood instead of pretending to be something they aren't, as they'll never be 11-12 again And they probably don't know they'll have many new responsabilities when growing up, otherwise, they wouldn't want to speed up the process so much.

The thing about having a childhood is to experience life in a carefree manner. Being happy, playing, and just being that itself, a child. Why would you want to speed up the process? I have a younger sister she's about seven and everytime we go out to stores I keep seeing less and less material used in children's clothing. I try to keep a bond with her so she can take advice and learn why it's not the right thing for kids to become adults. And plus the average age a person lives is around 70. You have all that time and more to be a child, teen, and adult. Television and many other things children see give them the wrong impression of what growing up really is.

I think that feeling of concern over youth is a perpetual cycle. Kids always seem so much smaller, more immature yet so eager to grow up than I think I did... it's all subjective though. People looked down upon me and my friends for the things that I look down upon in others.... I had friends losing their virginity at 13, I remember hearing of people giving each other blowjobs at 12... seems crazy and wrong now, but at the time - normal.

Makes me think of that episode of South Park that was taking the piss out of Paris Hilton - people who teach young girls to be "stupid spoiled whores." lol. It was hilarious, but unfortunately true that these are the role models for children.... people who's vocabulary doesnt extend further than "that's hot" and who's biggest decision in life is what shade of orange their skin should be this season.

In any case, I feel there are enough good influences in life and the media to direct girls in the right direction... but it takes a willingness on their part, as well as good common sense to figure it out, or at least a good reality check when their little world crumbles to shit. Afterall, most of us were exposed to the bad, yet we turned out ok... there's hope for others yet!

I remember when i was in school this girl got pregnant, she was only 13 and everyone gave her so much grief for it. The poor girl got called allsorts of nasty things. So shit happened and she had to leave school and i neva saw her for years. I saw her again a few months ago and she told me that the only reason she had sex was because her friends made her feel like shit for not doing it. i felt so sorry for her at the time, the lengths kids go to to be accepted.

that's a sad story... and I guess there must be many others like that, cuz it's true that girls sometimes feel bad if they don't have sex soon, as if they were losers. (lol, I'd be the queen of losers then ) And it must be so difficult to change this, I don't know if there's much parents or school can do once a girl reaches such a low level of self-esteem.

That's when I think though, you cant always take pity on people if they arent strong enough to be their own person and stand up for what they feel is right. I'd rather be labelled a "loser" than to be weak and malleable with low self esteem.

that sorry is really sad. i feel bad for the girl sucks for her..

i'd rater be a loser than lose my virginity for something stupid like that.

It's really sad. Young girls are looking older, having babies younger. I believe it does have a lot to do with videos, and movies. Little boys are growing up wanting the women in the videos, "dimes"..trying to be like their favorite rappers. It puts those little girls in the position where they have to look like the women on tv to catch a guy's attention over an innocent crush..
