Any Joni Mitchell fans up in the spot? I figured we have a Bob Dylan thread, so we need a Joni Mitchell thread.

I love the entire "Hissing Of Summer Lawns" album, especially "The Jungle Line" - that must have sounded so crazy to people in the 70's.

Also "Hejira" is a classic, I believe there was 2 Joni albums with Jaco Pastorius playing bass and this was one of them.

...can't forget "Big Yellow Taxi", either... ;)

/\ ah yes, off the "Blue" album. Classic stuff. That album is more straightforward than some of her later stuff, the more experimental stuff is what I'm into the most. I recommend you check out "The Hissing Of Summer Lawns" album, it's incredible.

I've been listening to 'Hejira' all day and I actually now prefer it to 'The Hissing..." - Jaco Pastorius is one of my favorite jazz artists, he was possibly the greatest bass player of all time and it's incredible to hear his talent alongside Joni's.

There's a famous live performance called "Shadows & Light" that I've seen on DVD, with Jaco playing bass for Joni live as well, I'm going to have to check that out soon.
