the only Duke player to succeed in the NBA has been Grant Hill, and he got injured. Johnny Dawkins was good, not great. Elton Brand is finally coming into his own (though i never had a problem with him personally. i respected him when he was at duke. though i'd also like to say he only won player of the year because Jamison didnt stay for his senior year). Duke is awesome at producing NBA bench players.

Exactly the point I was going to make. Guys like Laettner and Battier get so much hype from the Duke name, and while they can be solid contributors, they are never stars.

well JJ hasn't broken the record yet. he had an off night against GT (as did the whole team except williams), but he still scored 22. he most likely will get the record sat. against temple, barring injury or the worst game he's ever played (knock on wood).

He's probably going to be the Casey Jacobson, Kyle Korver type in the NBA. He's most likely not going to be a star, he seems soft.

Very good player, very solid player. But, until this year, how have the Clippers done building around him? He's not exactly a go-to guy. They've had the players, but havent produced anything.

yeah, and from what i heard a while ago, he's apparently a pretty good rapper, too.

anyway, last thing i'm gonna say about my man. people don't expect him to do well on the next level, nothing is gonna change people's opinions about him. all i gotta say is that, once he exceeds people's expections, which are really low so he will have no problem doing that, and even if he has an outstanding pro career, people are still find something to hate on him for.
