Calling someone an infidel is a kind of a diss u know,, i mean walk down the street and be like "hey, your an australian!" or "hey, your an infidel!" you'll get different reactions you know. Look Groobz your just making a storm in a tea-cup. Infidel in arabic simply means one who simply rejects a particualr belief. If a muslim says it to a non-muslim then he is simply looking at things from his own perspective. But it can go both ways. A Christian can s\y it to a muslim as well. Or an atheist can refer to a muslim as an infidel becasue from an atheists perspective he is an infidel.
It's just another 'fashion' word used in the media nowadays. the transalation of 'kuffar' is non-muslims not infidels anyway. the media just seems to want to use the word infidel instead.
