After it was reported that Jay-Z's Sin City 40/40 club failed to pass inspections, the hot spot opened last night (Dec. 30).

The franchise, located inside the swanky Palazzo hotel on the Las Vegas strip, opened its doors to a crowded house, including such stars as Beyonce, Mary J. Blige and Ne-Yo, as well as such unlikely guests as Al Sharpton and Joe Jackson. Hova himself was also in the building.

Just a couple of days ago, the club's slated New Year's Eve bash was in serious jeopardy, needing certain licenses and certificates by Sunday (Dec. 30).

Jay-Z and his partners would have had to refund all opening night tickets, adding even further expense to a venture that had yet to see any profits.

Apparently, the upscale sports bar - which features 85 plasma TVs, five bars, five V.I.P. rooms and a dining area - made the deadline. Calls to 40/40's PR rep weren't returned at press time.

In related news, Hov performed Saturday (Dec. 29) for a sold out house at the Palm Casino Resort's Pearl Concert Theater. Tickets for the show were originally priced at $225 and were gone within an hour of going on sale.

Kanye West is scheduled to perform at the luxe venue tonight.
