Jay-Z, part owner of the NBA’s New Jersey Nets, is hoping that a new theme song will get fans amped during games at the Continental Arena.

The retired rapper and president of Def Jam has partnered with Sprite and New York City radio station WQHT-FM to announce a contest seeking a new song to represent the franchise.

The winning tune will be played during Nets home games, and its creator will get a chance to record the song at Baseline Studios in New York City.

"The Nets are a hot team, and we're looking for a song to match the intensity of the players and the game experience,” says Jay-Z. “It's going to be fun to hear the different ways that fans capture the flavor of Nets basketball through music."
