Perhaps Jay-Z’s latest venture for Rocawear will tell him when to return to the hip-hop arena, for he has recently announced Rocawear will be expanding into the wrist watch market. After partnering with timepiece designer Vestal Group, Rocawear watches will be available in the fall of 2006.
"We are pleased to partner with the Vestal Group” stated Jay-Z. “They are uniquely positioned to provide the cutting edge design consistent with the Rocawear brand. I feel strongly that the taste level and loyalty of our customer is to be respected and our timepiece collection will appeal to their fashion sense while also giving them a true classic timepiece to be worn for many years to come."
In what was probably an accidental pun, the Vestal Group president of licensing Rudy Theale said, “Vestal Group in conjunction with Rocawear now has the opportunity to create the blueprint for a classic timepiece and bring an innovative collection to the consumers and the retail market.”
