I just got up and heard the news.

Very bad... And apparently the problems were caused by overworking. I can't believe that personally... But you never know.

There's a story on the news page now.
He said it himself in an interview

RIP to a great producer

Yeah I know that. I quoted the interview in the news section. I just don't believe that you can malnutrition in the western world. If it's true that work can take over your life like that, that's mad.

Just got the full story. Didn't realise he'd been on dialysis for 2 years.

Yancey had been on a dialysis machine for two years. The Detroit native was living in Los Angeles with his mother after being diagnosed with the immune system disease roughly three years ago. Yancey’s joints and kidney’s were weakened by lupus (which causes the immune system to attack healthy cells), but he remained upbeat says Maynor. “He was optimistic about working on future projects and doing future shows,” he said. Yancey was bent on touring in Europe in December and Maynor told him, “… I'm prepared to carry you, if I have to carry you down stairs and put you on stage.”

My local radio station is doin a show tonight in honor of him, shit is tight. They are called the Radio Bums, no one really knows about J Dilla that listen's to the radio so I think it's real tight. They are telling everyone how much of a impact he had on Hip-Hop and his influence on the culture and the sound, it's real cool. I'm excited listenin to this and people callin up like I didnt know he did that or whatever. Sad that it had to come to his death for him to earn some respect from the otuside.
