If I'm not mistaken, Rather Be Your Lover is a Madonna song, and Pac just added his verse onto the original track... which is why the beat changes during his verse.

it was a legitimate collaboration, but madonna remixed the song slightly for her release, removing the pac part (that was admittingly weak)
