Bachaveli, tell us how many songs you want to fit on there, how much you're willing to pay and whether you have any other requirements (radio, voice recorder, video playback) and then people can make some recommendations.
My friend, i did tell ya my requirements in my first post.Illuminattile said:Bachaveli, tell us how many songs you want to fit on there, how much you're willing to pay and whether you have any other requirements (radio, voice recorder, video playback) and then people can make some recommendations.
But again,30gb with video playback. As far as money, the best but the cheapest.;P. I have had the sound quality when using the cassette adapter be shitty, but it is no the cassette adapter's fault. It is the way the song was encoded at. I usually encode at 192kbps to 256kbps. Encoding songs at 128kbps is a far lesser quality and if you have very sensitive hearing you will notice the difference.Bachaveli said:I have that cassete thingy already.I use that to connect to mp3 cd player into my car stereo which has cassete player. So i guess that will also work for ipod. But sometimes the quality messes up when using that cassete thingy.
iTrip, does that have all features (30gb,and video playback)?

itrip, do not buy them if you live in a big city area with alot of radio frequencies. What it does is you need to find an empty frequency to use your ipod, here in Los Angeles, there are so many radio stations that we don't have an open frequency to use an itrip on.
It uses your radio antenna to transmit your ipod to your car radio. Like you stated you live in New York, I would not recommend it at all. Also if you have an internal antenna it won't work at all. I bought an cassette adapter from Radio Shack a couple of months ago and it has been working flawlessly. This is the one I have:Bachaveli said:Oh isn't that like an adapter for iPods that lets your iPod play in car stereo?Nice stuff. But how is it possible to play in car stereo without any wires?

That is one cheap car if it can't hold the vibrations of the road lol. I have never had it skip at all, so I think your cassette radio is the one to blame. It moves around to much and probably it is not mounted correctly??Bachaveli said:I have a similar cassete adapter if not the same,I dont have it on me right now.But what i meant to say about using this method is when sometimes car hits on rocky rouds and hits on bumps, thats when it kind of messes up the play, sometimes it even stops playing but most of the time it disrupts the play.I think thats a cassete adapter fault because that doesn't happen with regular MP3 player stereo.
Anyway, forget that. That cassete adapter is good yes but what if i want to play my iPod and i have a MP3 player instead of cassete player. Then how do i play?Because thats only for cassete stereo cars.

If you want to play your ipod without a cassette adapter you can by an AUX adapter or a USB port. Here are some info on it

Bachaveli said:I bought it.I have few questions:
1.I'm charging through the computer. How long does it need to charge EXACTLY?
2.Is it ok to let the batteries die out completely before charging it or it doesn't matter when you'll re-charge?
3.How long does the wall-charger need to be charged?
Looking through the links I would choose the 3rd link simply because you are getting alot more for your money BUT it states that it is for the ipod nano only. I really don't see why you need a car charger to tell you the truth unless you live in your car or drive alot. Waste of money for a car charger. So none.Bachaveli said:Pontiac GT
Anyway,i looked for some and liked these four. But i don't know which one to choose.

Ok.Yea i get that 'Do not dissconnect' on top when charging.Get In The Van I Have Candy said:Congrats on the purchase I will check out those links later in the afternoon. Only got like 5 hours of sleep so going to take a nap in a couple of minutes.
1. When you connect your ipod to the computer, the ipod screen shpould have a "Do not dissconnect" and on the top right hand side should be the battery indicator. If the ipod is recharching you will see a lighting bolt in the middle of the battery indicator, if it is fully charge there will be none. As for how long does it need to be recharged, it all depends on how much have you been using it.
Good thing i asked this.I wanted to know becuase i didn't know if i should let it die completely and then recharge or recharge anytime because with my phone i let it down completely most of the time and then recharge so i thought it was the same concept with the iPod.But thanks for the heads up.Get In The Van I Have Candy said:2. Do not let the battery fully die down. It is because when you let the battery die down completely, you lose a charge cycle. I am not sure how many cycles the ipod battery has, but let's say for instance it has 500 cycles and if you let the battery drain all the power from it, it will be a full cycle and you will be left with 499 cycles. So it is best to charge your ipod every chance you get. It will give you more battery life. On my first ipod I had, it was a 20 gig 3rd generation and the battery has lasted me for 3 years and still going strong (Gave it to my cousin).
There is a another way to charge your Ipod. Its through the wall plug-in charger. You plug one end of the adapter in the wall and another one in your ipod and charge it.(just like with the cell phones). And with this way, i was told it takes only 3 hours to charge. But with computer charger,it takes 8 hours(?) i was told. How true is that?Yesterday i charged it for the first time right, and i let it charge for 4 hours because it said in the manual book..(for the first time, you should charge for 4 hours). But i want to know, from now on,do i stop charging after it shows 'COMPLETE' or continue charging until some time?which i was told was 8 hours.lol Sounds absurd but is it true?Get In The Van I Have Candy said:3. Don't understand. I don't use any wall charger, I just connect my ipod through my computer and it recharges itself automatically.
No sorry.I meant i need cigarette lighter adapter,to play iPod through cigarette lighter since i already have cassete adapter one.Not exactly the charger. But to play an iPod in a car through cigarette lighter. So plz look around and tell me which one is that i need.http://www.crutchfield.com/S-xaRMAVGEiCu/cgi-bin/ProdGroup.asp?g=276950Get In The Van I Have Candy said:Looking through the links I would choose the 3rd link simply because you are getting alot more for your money BUT it states that it is for the ipod nano only.
