in a job interview, what do YOU say when they ask you...

I always say that I've done research on the company (usually total bs) and it looks like a place I would like to have a long term career in. Always let the interviewer know that you plan on being there for awhile.. even if you dont. If its a full time spot your going for, you want them to think "yea this guy really wants to work here. Maybe he really will stick here for awhile".

They say "insert employment name here?"

I say, "for the salary."
Interviewer: "Ha ha, you're honest."

Seriously, say what Fataldawg said, and say you're interested in this kind of work. (Mopping the floor.)

I usually tell the truth and not bullshit them...at least with this question. ;)

bullsiht usually passes through. Reason why im asking is because i might have an interview soon at "The Beer Store". If youre Canadian, you know what that is and what kind of HONOUR you get out of wokring there. SO im just getting ready and this "why u wanna work here" question is gonna come up for sure.

when i get asked that i always say "because i need a job and money": but i say it with a smile and i get a laugh each time.

dude, it is called the beer store tell them you want to work there because you like beer. it's perfect

Just tell them you hate alcohol and you want to put them out of business by drinking until you black out and hit your head and sue them.

Remember one thing in an interview. The interviewer doesn't care about what the company does for you, but what u can do for the company.

So when they ask you a question like that, they don't wan to hear things like 'well it's a good opportunity for me... it's a dream come true... blah blah blah' that's all bullshit.

What you should be saying is something along the lines of:
"because i believe i can bring alot to the team... dah dah dah"
everything you say you should back up with evidence. They generally don't ask this as a first question so you've already explained alot of things and given them some idea about your previous experience.

so be like: "cause i feel like i have the experience and i could definately become an asset to your store" kinda thing?

they'll think im an alchy tho

If you're applying at the Beer Store, I hardly doubt they're going to look for a really specific answer to that question. I mean, you'd be either:

1. Working behind the counter
2. Stocking the product(beer)

But, you can go with "I want to help you in your goal of monopolizing the Canadian beer industry". :)

tell them the experience that youve had in places. say stuff like youve got people skills. tell them ur an honest and trustworthy person. also mention that you are very reliable and hard working.

Sometimes depends on the company and what kind of job you'll be doing if its mainly customer service related say something like about your personality, hard working etc. And they always love to hear how your interested in their company (you obviously are) and their history etc. It worked for me :D Good luck and just relax.
