Anybody know anything about importing an American Classic to the UK? I've looked into importing new cars and it seems pretty easy. But I'd prefer to import a classic, although it seems a lot of hassle. But I'd save a shit load of money.

well here in canada, the car, lets say from japan, has to be atleast 15 years old from its manufacture date. All around here all im seeing nowadays, are Skylines, and AE86's. so many RHD cars around my neighborhood.

hmm not sure on the importing to the uk thing...

but i was watchin "import tuners" last night on espn 2 and this guy had a 4 door skyline imported from japan to the states...it sat at the docks for 5months and 3weeks b4 it got clearance

yeah, its real hard to get whole cars imported, thats why people get the drive lines imported then the chasis with the body on it.. then they call it a "kit" car so it becomes alot easier to get by all the shit.

^ I was gonna bring that up too.
The only way you can really get a whole car into the States at least is with money, a lot of it. I'm pretty sure it will be the same for the UK.

Do you think you can find an American classic in the UK, where someone already did all the hard work for you.

Thanks.

Yeah New cars seem a hell of a lot easier.

I was tempted to import a brand new F150 Harley truck, can get a fully loaded 1 dirt cheap. Costs 3 times as much to buy 1 here.

But then I saw 1 struggling to drive through West London. Not UK practical.

Damn, you should just buy a piece of shit one out there and pray that it gets pimped. Seems like you're going to be in for a struggle trying to get a classic over there, good luck though.
