I'm lucky enough to have $70K to spend on a car...

what do i get? im leaving for college but the car'll be in my name... i know, sounds kinda gay, but i come back in the winter and i might have an internship in the city... or i'll be doing something medical related so i cant be driving my 94 es300, no matter how nice it is and how much i love it...

to give you an idea, i was looking at a 6 series beemer... my dad said it might be too flashy (HA!) but then he suggested a lexues GS430... honestly, as nice as the interior is, it looks like a bug on the outside... im not into it...

also, i looked up a maxed out bmw 550i and got about 56K and then i did both an S4 and then an RS4 on audi.com... and they came to be under budget....

but i still cant make a choice... i know im missing other makes out there, but i want performance cars similar to those i mentioned above... so its not gonna be tearing up the race track, but its gonna still push 0-60 in under 5 and still be able to drive people around without breaking their necks....

that too was in my crosshair, but if im getting a beemer, im prolly not going to go for the 3 series.. i do like the 5 series a tad better... but the 6-series, which is just over 70K at 74K is my top choice.... im just looking at other cars just in case it doesnt work out..

in my area there are alot of g35's... i want something new that no one had... people have A4s and maybe 1 or 2 S4s... no one has an RS4... i did look it up though, and it turns out that audi discontinued the rs4 after the 07 model... they say it might be hiatus... so if it comes back it'll prolly be redesigned right?? so i dont want the previous generation model... or i'd prefer not to...


and i wont fit in a lotus.... i tried... the purpose of the car (lower center of gravity for better handling) was thrown off by my weight... so... yeah..

get a 97 supra and go single turbo ftw! not really, thats what i would do lol. id say if you dont mind a sports car go for the C6 ZO6. if you need the space and luxury too wait for the lexus IS-F. 400hp V8 and 7-spd auto.

as much as i want to stay outta the lexus family, (we've bought 3 over the years) this and the LS keep making me want to come back.... i dunno when it comes out though, but ive read alot about it... we'll see... m3 killa im sure...

The LS460 is a great car as far as comfort and power are concerned. But for my own tastes, I'd want something sportier as far as looks. It's more of a family car for an older person. At 18, you should be looking to have more of a fun sports car, not a retirement car, however luxurious.

right... so then at the same time isnt a porsche saying "i am a spoiled fuck"? i'd rather have something a little less discreet... plus, when am i gonna need to 0-60 in 3.8? i know i said i wanted fast, under 5.. but the upper 4's are fine...

the rs4 kinda fit that description, but its manual and im not a racer.. it will be for driving around town and trips to the city...

i dunno if i said this before, but i wont have the car with me in college.. i'll be coming back in the winter for a month, i may have some kind of shadowing/ internship thing going... we're 20 mins. from the city, who's the say my dad wont get me one there... so its gonna be a car for while im here in the winter and summer... my dad said not to get something that he cant drive, since he may take it out for a spin once ina while.. (LIAR!).. still, he pays, he has all the input really.. he asked what i wanted and as long as i dont dick around in first semester, it'll be good to go in december... so...


still, the S4 seems a good choice since its got a tiptronic option... i wont be using it, nor do i know a whole lot abot it, but i heard it can be driven like an automatic, and that;s all that matters...
