One of my friends did a stint at a rehab center for a shopping addiction recently. Which led me to think there must be rehab for anything you can imagine. At least in America. Anyway, two days a week they would put her in a high-end clothing store where everything cost over $100, and she had only $100 to spend. That was her limit. She was told to stay in the store for an hour and endure. Honestly that can't have helped. I was with her earlier and she's still maxing out her credit cards. Still thousands of dollars in debt. What goes on!

So I don't know how they do it down under, but is that what your rehab was like? I picture in front of you one of those oversized champagne glass centerpieces with two or three gorgeous Dita Von Teese looking women swimming in a pool of Cristal, licking their lips at you seductively to jump in. But then every time you go near to them this red alarm light goes on and the guards run forward from their posts in the dark, shacking a big, threatening stick at you and wiping the drool off your face. Is that what it's like?

I don't know what a shopping addict makes but this girl is way over the top. Anytime she goes into a store she won't leave there without buying something. And it can be a baseball cap or a massager or a handbag, not even luxury items, and after a while all of these purchases add up and now she is some $10,000 in debt. I do feel for the girl, but mostly I am just amused.

She is too stubborn for hypnosis, and also for horse tranquilizers. Maybe I will sneak up on her one day and lay her out with a dose of that stuff. I wonder if that will cure her. I wonder if I will go to jail.
