Contact motorola, if they dont know what is wrong they will tell you to send it for replacement, its should be free under at least 1 years warrenty which all electrical goods must have.

Maybe in your phone settings you have the message validity period set to one week? Set it to maxium or what ever option they give you. Check that out, you shud find it under messages and then options.

The 8800 is the latest jewel in the crown of the world’s largest mobile phone manufacturer – Nokia. The device is high-end not in a sense of functionality, battery life or memory. The 8800 series is a high-end device in a sense of fashion and perfectionism.
In result of a careful market research, Nokia realized that there is a distinct group of consumer, for which price is not the main concern – people that like Italian cars and Swiss watches. Recognizing the desires of this particular market, Nokia introduced so called “premium” series in 1998. The first model of those series was Nokia 8810 – device with chrome finish and integrated antenna, one of Frank Nuovo’s (Nokia’s Chief Designer) many designs. The phone was advertised in any possible way and form – starting with TV commercials, magazines and even giving away the 8810 to all the members of then very popular band Ace of Base.

Not a fan at all of the 8800, looks flash but technologically is very, very average. Only has a 0.5mega pixel camera which pretty much renders it useless as a camera phone. It's also really heavy due to the scratch resistant case (which still scratches). My boss has one and he reckons it's more like a piece of jewellry for showing off with, don't get me wrong it is a good phone but so was the 3210, people expect a bit more now. My favourite phone i've had was my 8810, but it'd still be regression to get one even though it's not a great deal different to the 8800 bar the colour screen.

Get a K750i, equally as slick both looks and software wise, loads more features.
