Ok, i'll keep it simple. It's still gonna be a little long though.
I recently financed a new car. I put 1,000 down and then paid for the registration and some other small shit. All together it was about 1,800. It's a 10,000 car. I've had it for 2 weeks (tomorrow) and already i've had a few small problems with it. I realize it's a used car and it won't be perfect, but I like to be smart about large amounts of money ..espically in a situation like this. Cause if I was to get fucked over some how, there's no way i'd be able to keep a straight face and just pay them for a car that fucks up.
The 2 problems i've had with it are small, but who's to say I won't have bigger problems soon in the future? I think there's some law where you can return the car within 30 days if shit is fucked up with it. The first problem is the engine light coming on. I've been told it's an 02 sensor and rather then trying to replace each of them, they did one and the light came back on. So I basically gotta take it to them until they guess the right one and the light stays off. To me, they should just do every fucking one and get that shit over with. I mean, i'm buying a fucking 10,000 car from these assholes. A small problem, but a headache I don't need.
The other problem is the back rim on the drivers side. You know when you are driving on a bumpy road and you feel a bit of vibration? Well that's what I feel when I drive, only it's not real bad, but enough for me to feel it either way. Only I get that feeling driving in general, no matter what kind of surface. They told me the rim was fucked up somehow and I need a new one. They said they "located" one, but it wasn't in good shape like the one I have now. I just bought a fucking 10,000 car from these idiots and they wanna give me a dinged up rim to replace the good one that came on the car? I refused. It's a small problem too, but again they are giving me a hard time. They said if I found a rim somewhere for it at a junkyard, they'd buy it. I guess they can't buy it from a dealership because they are too fucking cheap?
So i've decided I have a few different options, but I haven't decided which I wanna go with yet.
Option 1..
I keep the car with these 2 small problems and I bring it back to get fixed. They will fix the 02 senor problem eventually, but that could mean i'd have to bring the car back to them more than one more time. The rim situation i'm not so sure about. I picked it up on Thursday from them and they haven't told me they found a new one yet. That can be fixed ..eventually. Whenever they (or I.. I guess) find a rim in good condition. So I can keep it and get those problems fixed. But who's to say I won't have other bullshit problems later on? Like I said, I realize it's a used car.. but either way it shouldn't be THAT much a problem within the first month.
Option 2..
I basically go there, throw the keys at them and tell them to go fuck themselves and I want my money back. Not only do I think this will save me future headaches, but i'll be able to get another nice car somewhere else (I wouldn't be willing to deal with them again I don't think) for equal or lesser value. It will be another used car, but hopefully there wouldn't be bullshit problems early on. The reason I haven't done this yet is because I realllllly like the car and the problems i'm having with it now aren't big problems. I do have a good 2 year warrante on it, but who knows how helpful that can really be.
I'm just wondering what some of you would do. I don't wanna rush and make a decision, but I do gotta make up my mind soon. If I am gonna give the car back, it should be this week or early next week. Like I said, I think there's some 30 day lemon law with cars. I'm not completely sure though. I looked it up and it said that the people must have 3 repair attempts at fixing the problem(s).

your "check engine" light is no big deal really BUT how old is your car? How many miles are on? An your right for the money you just spent you shouldnt be having these problems. All used cars are suppose to go through a 21 point inspection to ensure its safety an realyability (sp) now as far as your rim, i'd definately be looking into that, a bad rim is a saftey concern! Read over your papers an let us know what happens!
