I need urgent advice!

I'll tell you what happened to me, I know it's not a very important problem, but I don't know what to do about this...
Some weeks ago I was doing nothing, just walking in the city center, and a woman approches me and asks me if I wanted to become a model. I was very flattered of course, so I gave her my phone number, and she told me that she was gonna call me.
Yesterday I answered the phone and it's this women telling me to go this Wednesday to an interview, cuz they are going to choose 60 girls to take part in a Loreal fashion show.
I'm really excited about this, I really want to go, but i'm not sure yet, I don't think my parents will agree with this, they prefer to see me studying, I have lots of exams at the uni this week, and I don't think i'll have enough time to do something like this And I'm afraid of going there and feeling dissapointed, the other girls must be a million times prettier, taller and thinner than me! So is it worth lying to my parents, should I tell them the truth about this? Should I go???

i wouldnt cause of school simply and cause your parents get mad is a plus if you actually give a shit about your parents and if there are sssooo many other girls out there maybe it might be a reason to not go not saying you'd lose i never saw you but i would not go after reason one basically

1) Find out if it's legitimate like ghost7 said.
2) Try it anyway. Your parents not agreeing doesn't matter because you're not forced to accept the job. You tell them you need to discuss it with your parents. Would they get pissed if you said "I got offered a model job but I wanted to discuss it with you before I accepted"?
If you don't get the job, no gain no loss. Can't imagine your parents getting pissed over you having fun?
3) You got asked to do an interview to be a model. That means you're definately not ugly and maybe even that you're pretty. Who cares how other girls look? You look good, so fuck the other girls (and video tape it chronic_regime@hotmale.com).

thx for the advice guys! the problem is that i don't know if i want to be a model, i'd do it only for the money, that could help me a lot! But it's a bit risky, i'll have to think about this, perhaps it's not worth it...
And I'm NOT going to post pics, videos, or anything similar... i'm feeling too inhibited right now! Maybe one day you'll see me on a magazine cover...
