Hey guys, what's up?

Anyways, I just got into an accident like a week ago in my car. I own a 2002 Chevy Malibu. I no longer want it, I want to trade it in, but i'm not sure what to get. I don't know much about cars, just that I want something that's at least a V6, four doors, and that isn't small.

I was thinking about either a 04/05 Pontiac Grand Prix or Bonneville, however, people are telling me that Pontiacs are bad cars, I haven't heard this before, and I don't know for sure.

So, what do you guys think, I don't want to spend over $14,000, i'm also going to do a down payment of two thousand, plus my trade in.

ALL OPINIONS ARE WELCOME!!!!!!

I want it to look great (sorry about how shallow that sounds)

But I still want good gas mileage, like my car now is excellent on gas, and I do ALOT of driving so I need something that isn't going to be a gas guzzler.

Also, something that isn't going to be too high maintenance, like the parts are hella expensive and only certain shops know how to fix the problems , etc.

toyotas are very good cars. they do last forever. but the sad thing is...as shallow as it sounds..it looks like a soccer mom whip. no matter which model u take.

i suggest u buy a 02 Honda Accord. hondas last just as long. and their cars look better. the engine and everything else honda makes are real good for long term driving n etc. how much do u drive a day? plus or minus.

and dont buy american cars. they got all the power n shit. but they dont last. especiallyif u plan on buying a second hand.

and for 14gz plus trade. u can buy a new civic/corolla.
newayz holla syn.

She wants a v6, civic, no.
Maybe a v6 accord but, what total price are you looking for with trade in and all?

i'd stay away from american cars if i was you. The accord is nice, so is a VW passat.

To be honest, american v-6 don't really pump out that much horsepower (for their econ class), so you would be surprised what an import i-4 can do for you (and save you money at the pump).

Whut do u need a v6 for?!? ahah, just get a civic. The new ones run u 200hp. The car itself will last u a long time. The parts are cheap incase u need to repair and if u need to sell the car, Honda's have the highest resale value! Your not gonna get much out of any pontiac or GM for that matter. So in your best interest, you should look at any of the following cars be it new or even 3-4 years old.

Honda: Civic, Accord
Acura: Integra, RSX, CL, TL, 1.6, 1.7
Nissan: Sentra, Maxima, Altima
Mazda: Protege, 3, 6
Toyota: Celica, Camry, Corolla(type s)

(theres probably more, but thats all that comes to my head right now)

Majority of these cars come in v6, but lots of them still sit heavy in power and are a 4 cylinder car. Try looking for these japanese made cars. They'll last you a long time!

IMO, you should go with a honda. It's exactly what you are wanting in car, and the modifications are endless if you want to go that route.

I just recently purchased a Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V (theres a pic of it in another thread in here). Its by far one of my fav cars that i've owned!! Fast, fuel efficient, 6speed fully loaded except for leather and like hondas, the mods on this are somewhat endless aswell.

Thanks for all the help guys. But we have a few problems with the suggestions.

1. A toyota camry is wayy out of my budget, the 04/05's are in the 20 thousands, and I don't want to spend that much money :(

2. The Honda Civic is too small, I don't like toy cars, I want something big, my Malibu is small enough and it pisses me off:mad:

3. The Honda Accord is also out of my price range of $14,000 :(

And the Japanese cars, aren't the pretty expensive as well? I don't know which cars fall under that category, the Mazda is a Japanese car, isn't it? But it's about 17K as well, and the Mitsubishi is Japanese isn't it? The Galant is okay, but I hate the small eclipse

Are there any options that aren't out of my price range, and that aren't tiny?

as weird as it seems. u gottalook for ur car in thehood. a honda accord...and 02...with maybe 40k...would run u bout 10gz.

Cars right off the top:
2000-2002 Lincoln LS they have a V6 version
2000 Jaguar S-type
1999-2001 Lexux LS300 <<< best pick
1997-1999 Benz E320, but make sure to get it from a benz deler or with a benz warranty.
These cars will be a little bit more for maintanance, but the drive is unforgatable.
or get an Accord.
