bmi sucks
- Normal people: Hello, how are you, nice to meet you.
- Vegans: Hello, I'm a vegan, are you a vegan, well I'm a vegan, you're not a vegan? Don't speak to me. I'm a vegan.
14 pounds in a week. lolwtf
i went vegan for a weeek and lost like 14 lbs.
i work rough and am always hungry like everyone else at my job, so i dont think i can handle being a vegan with my job. (let the thrashing begin) but at least i tried it.
maybe when my hours go down, ill eat less meat, but for now, i'm gon eat everything in sight that seems healthy with a lil meat on the side.
yah, if i don't eat 2-3 meals a day, i can lose 2 pounds in one day.
my metabolism is quick.
and sometimes i get lazy or decide to do other stuff and i dont eat more than 1 meal a day, and just very small snacks in between like crackers or something.
i'm just not into having to cook everything i eat anymore and i dont have a girl lol
ill make a thread about that later, maybe.
Good for you for trying to get your life in track, but honestly, switching to no-meat will not somehow make you feel 100% better. Here's why:
People who only eat meat without any breads and sugars can lose weight as quickly as people who become vegans/vegetarians. Look at the /r/keto subforum on reddit.
You have to understand how the body processes fats, proteins and carbohydrates. Everything you eat has a chain reaction in your body, it releases hormones which tells your body what to do. Eat a bunch of sugar/carbs? Your body is going to release insulin to tell your body to start storing some of that energy (aka body fat). Big insulin spikes lead to you feeling like shit, especially when you're older.
A few years ago I was a 250 lard ass, now I'm at 190 and can dead lift twice my weight. Can't deal with baked chicken because it doesn't have enough taste? Rule #5 - Harden The Fuck Up, getting in shape isn't some walk in the park, you gotta work for it.
I'm doing Leangains until I get to my target weight of 170. I haven't felt so strong and healthy in years.
oh and Hi I'm back!
P.S If you think you can supplement animal protein with beans or soy, you're going to be eating a ton of carbs and isoflavones (which acts like estrogen in your body).
Yeah I went to the strong lifts site but f paying for shit. Want to rundown how it works?
yeah, I did the stronglifts program. I didn't fully adhere to a good diet and lots of protein but I saw good results, particularly chest and back. It definitely works. The crossfit guy who was measuring us at the beginning of my recent crossfit training said I have a great subscalp, whatever that means lol.
Cross fit is such a bunch of BS. Better off sticking with strong lifts. NOTHING beats eating right and lifting heavy.
