I hate part 2

I Agree in That it will take time no matter where & obviously no one should ever lose their roots or have to forget where they came from. how ever false imprisioniment imposed is where I draw the line.

I never said they should lose their roots or anything. But I have friends that their parents have immigrated 20 years ago and they have never bothered to speak either french or english because they knew people that spoke their language that could make them work. If I go live in Italy, I will have to learn italian because that is the commonly spoken language.

And when I am talking about immigrants imposing their culture, I talk about what happen recently this winter in Quebec. Many events happened like some islamic people coming to one of our sugar shack and they literallykicked the people out of the dining room or made them shut up to make their prayer when they actually do it anytime in the day. But on they had to chose that specific moment. Or when I was in high school, there was still islamic girl that wanted to wear the hidjab. My school is a private CATHOLIC school so they didn't allow. Right after graduating, she went to complain to some newspapers about how she should have the right to wear it blah blah blah.

I am far from racist, but if you don't respect my culture, don't expect me to respect yours. And Quebec we have not defined the limit yet of where people are going to far.

And I know learning a language takes time. But when I call somewhere and they straight up tell me they don't speak english or french in their language or they only tell me "spanish, spanish, spanish" (like it happened to me today) it pisses me off because they don't even make the effort to adapt.

And I am no redneck.

lol, Carm, I start speaking to telemarketers in Croatian just so they leave me alone. Lots of people do that. The wonders of being trilingual. :D

I didn't know there were still such things as 100% Catholic high schools in Montreal.... What's the name of it again?

Collège Jean-Eudes. There is no mass anymore, but it's still called a public catholic school. Of course they accept anyone from any religion. But they still have to be taught catholicism and everything.

What is wrong with an ethnically diverse society? No body is trying to "force" anything on you... i personally think that other cultures migrating to a country and who maintain that culture only enrich the society. Of course, you do have to adapt to the new country but you can't just forget about your heritage or where you came from. That shit is important. It's ignorant to expect these people to just forget about their roots just like that.

noone said forget where u came from. Rather, its show respect for the country that you chose to emigrate to. My grandmother learned english from poland in a few weeks as a child. Granted its easier for children, but her parents instilled in her the necessity of learning at least the fuckin language of your new host country.

many muslims in england have absolutely no assimilation into the society in which they choose to live. I think thats disgusting. You can point fingers but when people dont even make an attempt to integrate but make a state within a state situation, problems arise as you are seeing now.

I work with a bunch of immigrants, and at first I sympathized with them, I understood that they came from a different place and I felt very fortunate to have better opportunities, but that was before I opened my eyes. Most of them are stupid, two faced, bitter assholes. First of all, they come here illegally in search of a job, so they can send their earnings back home, yet all they seem to do is complain about how much or what days they work. My co-workers have serious issues with their sense of entitlement. But never mind that, because we would all be sitting on the beach all day if we could. What annoys me is, they hate me for having a better life. They enjoy it when they see me fail. They gather around in their circle of amigos and talk all kinds of shit while I'm standing right there. I couldn't care less about the shit talking because I've dealt with bitch shit like that all my life but they are treating me like a dumbass when they talk shit in front of me. I came to this country when I was 10, I completed 12 years of basic education, do not confuse me with one of your stupid amigos. I struggled but I learned the language to bring myself into a better position, I like to say that I'm good at language. Plus I own a Spanish dictionary. I confronted them about it not too long ago, and of course they treated me like a child, completely denying the whole thing, and it seemed to have made things worse because what they do now is add an "A" at the end of my name, like I can't figure that out? So basically, I am better than them in all aspects of life, and I wish they wouldn't get me involved in their miserable lives.

Ahhhhh..... I don't want to stereotype, but I asked that because from what I noticed in my experience, most of the immigrants who complain the most have been Hispanics.. I rarely see a European (even Romanians aren't complaining, crazy eh lol) and especially Asians fresh off the boat complain...

I know not all Latinos are like that, but just something I noticed.

^^ where exactly do yo u live...

Because the Immigrants here in Quebec work their motherfucking asses off, shut the hell up and get shat on most of the time because the people from here know that the immigrants HAVE to work...

Yah I know in Quebec they do cause the Quebecois shit on them for being immigrants, but here... (Mostly in the East End and Pie 9), they act like the city of Montreal owes them and rob university students who live in shit 1 room apartments and tell them they don't deserve the education they get....

Sometimes it's hard to do but we have to not categorize an entire group of people based on a few assholes.

One thing I dislike in people is the animal instinct, and for me to use force on another is exactly that. I understand that they do this because they are weak. The human thing to do is to man up and keep being the better one. But as long as they continue to show disrespect towards me, I won't respect them.

Don't take it personal. If you respect me, I will respect you, regardless of how smart you are, or where you come from.

Yah I know what you mean, I'm not saying they're all like that, nor do I judge someone when I notice they're Hispanic. It was just an observation I made/thought about when Fourteen was telling his story.

No, I know. And just knowing you, I wouldn't think that you'd be one to think like that. It's just sometimes we get into these thinking patterns about how one group of people are if we're constantly around people from that group who behave in a certain manner, you know?

When I was living in Grand Rapids, I'd catch myself doing it A LOT. I almost got to a point where I hated White Americans (and it's hilarious because the person I love most other than me is a White American, hehehe, but I loved him still). And sometimes I just had to stop and tell myself that of course not all of them are like that. These few thousand in Grand Rapids are... but that's not everyone. It's harder to remind yourself that people aren't the same than it is for you to just believe that they are.
