because duke said these cars could go super fast... 155 is not THAT fast... sure for a car with those kinda specs and what not.... 250 mph is the new 200....imo..

and here's a tuner skyline, duke..

that's pretty fuckin quick....

I wasn't talking straight line speed, but cornering potential.

That car is insane, though. Hardly to be called "tuner Skyline". It has had so much done to it that it's definitely out of reach for 99.9% of the drivers out there.

That said, most Evo's are more limited on top speed because of their gearing ratios rather than engine power or aerodynamics.

That's true, for the most part. For example, a U.S.-spec 5-speed Evo IX should top out at around 157 mph or so, while the 6-speed version has different gearing that theoretically reaches 165 mph with the same engine. But at that point, you'll need a lot more power to keep going to overcome problems with aerodynamics. Keep in mind that the Evo's Cd is around 0.35 or 0.36, which isn't all that fantastic, and to go faster, you'll need either better aerodynamics or more power, which is why the 405 hp VIII FQ-400 (offered only in the U.K.) makes a only slight jump to 175 with the extra power. But there are quite a few (heavily modified) Evos that can break the 200 mph barrier.
