I got a NEW Evo

It was raining a couple mornings ago, and while going on an on-ramp I probably entered it too fast, so the car rotated but didn't turn. My front left wheel struck the curb pretty hard, sending a chunk of the curb in the air while pretty much damaging my front lip spoiler, wheel, tire, control arms, axle and brake calipers, assuming I didn't mess up the steering or the front LSD. I had it towed to the dealership initially for repair estimates, but since the service department was closed, they mentioned that I could trade it in as-is for a new one. So I got the SE (Special Edition), which added HIDs, foglights, a deeper chin spoiler, BBS wheels and aluminum roof.

Here is my old Evo (left) and my new Evo (right)... same color, but better model.

Go run it on a dyno I want to know what they really put out. Too much bs now when it comes to cars comin from Japan, especially that Mitsu for some reason.

I don't remember exactly what they put to the wheels, but it's somewhere in the neighborhood of 250-260 whp on a dynamometer, which puts it at around 300-305 crankshaft hp assuming the normal drivetrain losses on an AWD car. (On the same type of dyno, the first VIIIs put down 225 at the wheels, which is pretty proportional to its advertised crankshaft rating of 271 hp.)

not much of a VW fan, save for the microbus and the now-deceased phaeton, but this one made me kinda like the cute bugger...

but back on topic, i guess im kinda ok with Evos now.... alotta high school kids just think the Evo and the Skyline are the coolest cars ever, and hardly anything else gets talked about... also suggestions such as " you should put a turbo on that" for my 94 es 300 piss me off, but the one that really gets to me is that i should throw on some rims and change the exhaust... and that just makes me hate the japanese even more for rubbing these idiots the wrong way...

but i gotta admit, the X type or whatevr the new Evo's called.. it looks weird...
